Quick heads up, these items were provided for consideration.

Two new additions to the Rimmel range are the Volume Colourist Mascara with Lash Tint Complex and Colour Precise Eyeliner.

I'll start with the mascara because this is probably the most interesting new release, this mascara claims to not only lengthen and add volume to lashes when applied but also tint the lashes over time (daily application over two weeks), resulting in darker lashes.

I received the shade Extreme Black (also comes in Black), with the first use of this mascara I really didn't care if it tinted or not, it gave nice length, definition and volume, it didn't clump, I could layer for extra oomph or wear just a single layer for a more natural effect, it was already a mascara I could see myself wearing daily and repurchasing in the future.

I went ahead and wore the mascara every day for two weeks to test out the tinting properties and to be honest I'm not really convinced it worked that well for me, I felt like it possibly darkened the base of my lashes a little which was nice, when I wasn't wearing mascara my lash line looked a little darker and denser which gave my eyes more definition but I don't think it matched up to the results I get when I actually have my lashes tinted.

Overall I would say this mascara is worth trying, just because I wasn't blown away by the tinting properties doesn't mean it won't work for everyone and at the end of the day it's an awesome affordable mascara that gives lovely results when applied so if you're curious I would say go forth and buy it, you can't really lose at the end of the day with this one.

Moving on to the Colour Precise Liner, this pen liner claims to have high pigmentation, be quick drying and long lasting, be sweat and humidity proof and have a precise applicator for a flawless look. In my opinion it ticks all these boxes.

I received the blue liner and literally squealed with delight when I opened my package, I adore a good blue liner and was totally stoked to see that a 'drugstore' brand had expanded in to colour pen liners, there really aren't a lot out there, in fact if you check out Priceline's online store you will not find a single coloured pen liquid liner other than Rimmel's new addition, there are a few pot/tube + brush options but not a single coloured pen option. Granted people are more likely to want black, brown or even grey but I can tell you right now if this item was stocked in green, purple, silver, gold, red, orange, yellow or unicorn rainbow I would buy every damn one because these pens are lovely.

The felt tip applicator has a nice taper to it, giving you the ability to be quite precise while the formula has crazy opaque pigmentation and colour intensity, giving you a gorgeous pop of colour. It lasted all day on me, I'm talking 12+ hours and didn't budge until I purposely took it off.

I will be dead honest, the first few times I used this liner I had issues, I found the tip quickly dried up after running it over my eyeshadow which really made application difficult and disappointed me so much, I wanted this liner to work flawlessly because the formula was so nice but it got to the point where I was thinking it had issues with product flow. The next time I went to use it the tip was really dry so I popped the cap back on, tipped it upside down and gave it a firm shake, probably a little too firm if I'm honest because when I took the cap on I could see I had flooded the tip. I quickly learnt that when the liner is a little dry a light shake while it's turned upside down will draw product to the tip again, while this can be annoying it's often the nature of pen liners, they come with pros and cons, pro; they offer precision and easy application, con; the tip can dry out. Since the product is easy to revive and the formula is fabulous I'm completely ok with giving the pen a little shake before using it.

If you're in to a vibrant pop of blue on your lash line I definitely recommend picking up this liner, they also stock it in black and white. Please Rimmel, release more colours, my need for vibrant pen liners is real.
