Because why not?

Too Faced - Chocolate Bon Bons Palette

5 April 2016

I've been putting this review off like a boss! Seriously, I don't want to do it.

I've decided the only way to review this is accept the fact that I don't like it, explain why, show you the swatches and move on!

So here it is, the newest addition to the Chocolate Empire. Sixteen shades and minimal p[potential.

I don't like the palette because it's not well thought out and unless you love pink eyeshadow you're extremely limited to the looks you can create. I also feel it's just the same as the other Chocolate Bar palettes, lots of brown with pops of colour that have sub-par pigmentation. I think Too Faced can do better.

Let's just do these swatches. I'm running right to left in each row.. Don't know how that happened but whatever.

Molasses Chip has a stunning formula and pigment for days, I'd consider it the nicest shade in the palette based on colour, pigmentation & formula.

The worst shades in the palette have to be the pinks, Cotton Candy and Totally Fetch are horrible, you've got a frosty mid toned pink and a bright, almost florescent pink. Sprinkles is kind of ok with it's subtle yellow shift but I rarely find myself reaching for it.

The mattes are all ok, very typical of the matte Too Faced formula but nothing awesome is happening that I feel worth mentioning.

In my opinion this is the kind of palette you mix with other palettes, there isn't enough here for creating different looks everyday (unless you like pink). The formula of the shades is typical Too Faced, it smells like chocolate and has a cutesy-wootsy factor, if you love all these things, go for it. If you want a highly functional palette that you will find easy to use all the time then this may not be the palette for you.

You'll also find a look book in there, let me know if you ever actually use these! If you hate pink eyeshadow but still feel the need to add this palette to your collection I totally understand, the struggle is real and you're not alone.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette retails for $78AUD from Mecca Maxima stores and online here.

  1. I really considered purchasing this palette but now that you've mentioned it, the pinks seem a little extreme and don't know if I would wear them myself. Do you use the other chocolate palettes?
