Because why not?

Project Pan 2016 - Round 1 Intro

1 January 2016
Ok, so I'm technically on holiday while writing this, I wanted to have it all done so it wasn't something I had to worry about while I was away but time restraints didn't allow for that. That said, I don't have a lot of these products with me so I may be doing a little guess work with actual names. Sorry about that, the first update will be more... 'together'.

I've managed to get a little use out of these items since filming the intro so you'll get a little sneak peak of some progress on some items.

Bare Mineral Prime Time Foundation Primer - This is basically full, I've used it less than a handful of times. I've been a little turned off by silicone primes lately so I thought I'd pull this out and give it a fair go, hoping to have better results with something completely new!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation - I'm guessing at how much is left in this, it's actually really difficult to see through the bottle, I know I'll be able to finish this though and basically I just want to not have so many base products, ie; making space for new ones!

Essence Match To Cover Concealer Duo - I'm going to work on the darker pan, it's close enough to my skin colour to be able to use it through the rest of the warmer months, I would really love to empty that pan but if I can just have some serious pan showing I will be very happy.

Bare Minerals Pressed Powder - This is a gimmie product, it's ok but I wouldn't buy it again so just want to get rid of it.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded - I would really love to just hit pan on this or get a really deep dip!

Inglot Eyeshadow - I really don't use a lot of black shadow but have enough to last a few lifetimes, goal here is to hit pan but not necessarily finish it.

Aldi Solid Perfume in Poppy - Initially I thought this would take forever to finish but I've used it a few times and think there could be a possibility that I could finish it. Will see how we go.

Australis Paparazzi Perfect Blush - This is basically new, another one I've only used a handful of times, not even sure if I'll keep this one, it's in the project so I can use it regularly and see how I feel about it.

MAC Eyebrows in Lingering - Holy Grail, these brow pencils offer awesome control over colour depth and application due to the firm but creamy formula and extremely thin tip.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Liquid Lips - 2016 is going to be the year where I try to use more lip products, I find I'm always reaching for what's easy, usually a lip balm, but I have so many lip products that I need to get real about using them or simply not buying them.

Y.E.T Catgirl Eyeliner - Opened this months ago, used it a couple times then started working on the Maybelline Gel Liner in last years Project Pan, this has coped well with not being used and still works perfectly so I'll pop it in here for regular use.

MAC Silver Liner - So old, just want to try to use it up.

Maybelline Lipliner in Toast - Another old one, this has firmed up quite a bit so it's definitely time to go, will use it for the duration of the project and toss it if it isn't finished.

A;T Fox Lip Pencil in Rose Beige - Another gimmie product, will be easy to finish.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Lipstick in Sophia - This colour is a little off for my skin at this time of year but combines well with darker colours so just going to see what sort of use I can get out of this.

So basically the plan is to use these products until I finish or reach my goal on 10 items or I have been using them for 3 months, whichever comes first, I will then start a new project pan with 15 new items.

I'm adopting this method to have a little more freedom with what I use and hopefully not get stuck using the same products for a whole year, I think I may not finish as many items as I did in 2015 but I do believe it'll help me use a wider selection of my stash.

Will you be doing a Project Pan in 2016? If so let me know if you'll be posting about it and I will follow you along.

  1. Happy new year! I don't have a blog, but your Project Pan posts have motivated me to persist and use up my existing products before opening new ones!

  2. I am sort of...I have a lipstick in my collection that's almost finished and I'm hoping to finish it by mid-2016 at the latest. I may also try & tackle my small eyeshadow stash, but we'll see.

    1. If the lipstick is a colour that you can layer I suggest applying it underneath of over your chosen lipstick for the day, even with just one application you'll notice progress each month.

Eyeshadows are tough but the feeling of finishing one is so rewarding! Best of luck!!
