Because why not?

Blogmas 2015 Day 21 - Christmas Inspired Makeup #2

21 December 2015
My last makeup look used a limited edition and sold out makeup palette. Sorry about that.

I had intended on doing two looks this year so this time I pulled out a palette that is not limited edition, is easily attainable and you most likely already own it. I did also incorporate a matte red eyeshadow though... Diversify your collection or skip it. Whatever.

BASE

Primer: Australis The Original Primer & Innoxa Skin Perfecting Pore Vanishing Cream.
Base: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless, Hylamide Photography Foundation & Cover FX Custom Cover Drops.
Concealer: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles blah blah blaaaah
Face Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders in Ethereal & Dim

Today I went with The Original Primer from Australis as an all over primer and then patted the Innoxa Pore Vanishing Cream over my problem pore areas. I'm still loving my new base trio so went with a mixture of Maybelline Matte + Poreless, Hylamide Photography Foundation and Cover FX Custom Cover Drops. My skin has actually been pretty damn nice lately thanks to some new products I'm trialling so I totally do not need such a full coverage finish but the combination of these three products is just stunning so I'm sticking with it for now.

Concealer is again used under the eyes, around the nostrils and anywhere I else I feel like applying it and I set my under eyes with the Hourglass Etherial Light, while finishing the rest of my face with Hourglass Dim Light.

EYES

Prime: Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper & Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded
Transition Colour: White Chocolate
Crease: Illamasqua Daemon & Cherry Cordial
Lid: Creme Brulee
Lower Lash Line: Cherry Cordial & Amaretto

As always I started by priming, I'm working on the Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper at the moment. I worked White Chocolate in to the crease and up to the brow bone, layering several times to ensure I had a nice base to help with blending.

I slowly worked Illamasqua Daemon in to the crease and outer corner and then patted the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded over my eyelid and packed Creme Brulee over the top. I used a slim pencil brush to soften the edges of Creme Brulee then went in with Cherry Cordial to deepen the crease. The lower lash line consists of a mixture of Cherry Cordial and Amaretto.

Wings are courtesy of Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner which is definitely on it's last legs and I'm still trying to finish the Lancome Grandiose Mascara.

Brows are a simple fade of Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe & Ash Brown followed by Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara in Clear.

Pretty sure the berry coloured crease turned out looking more on the brown side with the photo above because of my lighting and camera settings. I'm still learning about all that stuff. I have decided to keep the portrait settings on my camera because they make my skin look amazing and looking at pictures like that inspire me to practice my application and blending so I can improve my skills.

We will get real with the photo below though, colours are spot on. Downside is that you can see how desperately I need to wax my brows. All I want for Christmas is another 8 hours a day.

Ultimately what you're going for with this eye look is a smoked out red berry and gold, bringing the two reds in to the outer corner just a little will give a nice transition effect. Try to avoid placing Cherry Cordial all over your first red base and keep it just in the crease, as you will lose that nice colour fade.

I used Benefit Hoola to contour and just generally warm up my face AND FUCKING HIT PAN!!!! I've been working on this all year but it has seen it's most use in the last couple of months as my body tanned quicker than my face did.

Benefit Coralista was my blush of choice and I'm still going on the Sugar Baby Eyeshadow in I don't know what colour as my highlight (I'm really enjoying this to be honest).

And finally for my lips I pulled out the Gorgeous Cosmetics lip liner in Christine and the Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Chihuahua.

I hope you guys enjoyed this makeup look!
