Because why not?

Mary Kay - TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set*

7 September 2015
The Mary Kay TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set* was sent to me by Beauty Heaven to trial.

Mary Kay's TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set comes in a pretty pink display box and contains two products; Step 1: Refine & Step 2: Replenish.

The TimeWise Mirodermabrasion Set is supposed to 'fight fine lines, refine pores and achieve beautifully smooth skin - immediately', in just one week 85% of users saw an improvement in skin texture, 73% saw a reduction in lines and 71% saw smaller looking pores.

During my first week of use I took the safe road and used the product only twice, my skin responded well and I opted to use the product 3 times a week from then on.

Step 1; the microdermabrasion, is a super fine scrub in a cream base, I expected it to be quite harsh but it was surprisingly gentle but crazy effective. I massage a small amount on to my damp face and neck using light pressure for about 30 seonds or so and then rinse off with warm water.

Step 2; the serum, has a light and thin consistency and the colour of pale rose, it absorbs quickly and is the perfect base for the rest of your skincare routine and/or makeup.

Neither of the steps really have a scent, which is nice when using a product like this because scents can be irritating for skin at the best of times, let alone after a deep scrub.

The product retails for $66AUD and you get 70ml of Step 1 and 29ml of Step 2, personally I think this is pretty standard for high end skin care when we talk about ml's to $ ratio but realistically this is a two step system where both are used together so the milliliter to $ ratio doesn't really work to justify the price tag, long story short, this stuff is expensive.

Would I recommend it? Yes, it's a beautiful duo that work really well together and my skin does look better for it. As for repurchasing, I think I would, now that Mary Kay give consumers the option to buy online without going through a sales rep I feel like the brand is much more on my wavelength and even though it's an expensive product I do think it's worth the investment.

I noticed an improvement in my pores, they weren't so obvious to the naked eye but my lines stayed the same as far as I could tell. When it came to the texture of my skin, that's where this product earned my love, my skin felt so soft and smooth and my base makeup applied so perfectly.

Have you tried any Mary Kay products that you loved?
