Because why not?

2015 Lovers #2 - August Favourites.

4 September 2015
I know you guys love favourites, it's one of my most requested posts but I struggle to do them because I tend to use the same stuff for months on end, I'm going to try to change that up and get favourite posts out to you on a more regular basis, I can't promise that it'll be monthly but I'll do my best!

First up are two palettes I've been absolutely smitten with, on the left is BareMinerals The Colour Compatibles $52AUD, this one is limited edition but still available on the Mecca website (linked) and I seriously can't recommend it enough, if you think it's pretty and you have space in your life for another palette then I suggest you click through and buy it right now, the shadows are perfect and the blush, bronzer and highlight make for a brilliant Spring/Summer all rounder.

Next up is a 'new to me' palette, I know it's been out forever and people either love it or hate it but the Urban Decay Naked 3 $78AUD is such a gorgeous, feminine palette and I have been crazy in love. I do feel it has it's draw backs, I'm not a fan of the closure on the palette and since it's mostly a pink palette you need to have added depth in the lash line to avoid looking sick but the palette has everything you need to tap in to your inner little lady.

My final makeup items are Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara $21.95AUD (Review), this mascara has been my go-to since it came to be a part of my collection, I picked up the waterproof version which isn't quite the same but still gives a nice effect, I love how this lengthens, volumises and separates the lashes. Stunning!

I've been loving my Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks in 07 Natural Beauty, 01 Coral Calling & 13 Love Me $4.70AUD (swatched below), these have fantastic pigment, look great on the lips even when they are dry, wear really well, smell good and are so, so affordable! Coming in to Spring these three colours are going to continue to be my most used because they are just stunning.

I've been loving glitter bomb eye shadows recently and while they can be messy to work with I find the result is so worth it (just use a tissue or shadow shield to protect your under eye). These two from The Face Shop (brick and mortar store can be found at Melbourne Central) have been making me weak at the knees, I can't tell you what they are called or even their shade names because everything is in Korean and I'm just a lowly monoglot (I only speak one language).

Moving on to body and skincare faves, this month I tried out the Milky Foot Exfoliating Foot Pads $31.99AUD, this stuff was so fucking cool, I don't want to say too much because I have a revolting review coming up for you guys but it's a major fave this month so I had to feature it!

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ $29.99AUD (Review) is a continuing Holy Grail product for me, I use this day and night and also use it as a primer for my shitty foundations.. Double Wear I'm looking at you.

Tea is my life and the T2 Turkish Apple & Cinnamon Tisane from $16AUD is so damn nice, essentially it's just a flavoured sugar which is supposed to be mixed with water and consumed as an iced tea but I have also been drinking it hot and it is seriously delicious, if you're not health obsessed and the flavours tick the right boxes for you I highly recommend trying it out!

Black tea is usually my facourite type to drink hot and if they are flavoured it's a major bonus so the Twining's English Breakfast Honey & Vanilla caught my eye quickly when it was released recently, I've gone through quite a few boxes of this particular tea over the last few months and although I don't usually like supermarket brands this one has become a staple, the honey and vanilla are both distinct flavours in the tea and they work really well together.

Lets do a 180 and talk about products that I think are shit..

Macadamia Healing Oil Infused Comb infuriates me, go to a shop, buy a $2 wide tooth comb and use it religiously and you will notice a difference in the health of your hair over an extended period. Why? Because wide tooth combs cause less damage to the hair shaft. This is just a really expensive wide tooth comb, it may very well be infused with Macadamia's Healing Oil but it sure as fuck isn't going to seep out of the resin and  in to your hair. Gimmicky crap that is taking advantage of people who don't know any better!

The Revlon HD Lipsticks look so damn good and swatch like a dream but when they come in contact with my lips it makes them look diseased and crusty. Enough said.

Savvy by DB offer some awesome, affordable makeup items, their lip liners are brilliant but this Clear Brow Gel is a joke, it does nothing. NOTHING. Avoid if you have eyebrows that need taming.

Live Clean Exotic Nectar Treatment Argan Oil is the weirdest fucking hair oil I have ever come across and I have tried A LOT of hair oils. This stuff foams up when you rub it between your hands, it also dries sticky which means your hair will stick together in large clumps and to top it all off it doesn't do jack for the hair. Watch the video to see the strangeness that is this major fail of a product.

What was your favourite and most hated product in August?
