Because why not?

February/March 2015 Beauty Basket

1 February 2015
This year I'm taking control of my beauty products, I've done my Beauty Inventory, started a Project Pan with makeup items and now, to combat my other beauty products I'll be working on bi-monthly Beauty Baskets.
The purpose of Beauty Baskets is to encourage myself to use up my less reached for beauty products and give me attainable goals related to downsizing my stash.

Every 2 months I will pull out a selection of hair, body, skincare and nail products to concentrate on using, with the aim to either make progress towards finishing them or actually finishing off the whole product. Unlike my Project Pan there will be no reward for finishing any of these products, all I will get out of this is the satisfaction that I finished a product that I would be very unlikely to even use on a regular basis.

I'm not including my favourite products in these Beauty Baskets because favourites are easy to finish off, the whole point is to do some damage on things that I neglect. There will also be no spending ban, I simply can't stick to them so it's pointless for me to put that pressure on myself.

And again you have the option of reading a blog post or watching a video :)

Ok, let's take a look at the products I've chosen for Feb & March.

Here I have samples and single use items and one item that is full size but super close to being finished.

  • Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive x9
  • Clairol Colour Radiance Shampoo x3
  • Kiehl's Powerful Wrinkle & Pore Reducing Cream
  • GlamGlow BrightMud Eye Treatment
  • Dr Lewinn's Day Cream Moisturiser
  • White Glo Whitening Strips x3
  • Indeed Labs. Eysilix
  • Palmer's Face Lift Serum
  • Tony Moly I'm Real Lotions in Aloe, Tea Tree & Lemon
  • Missha Super Aqua Ultra Waterfull Cream x2
  • Manuka Doctor Rejuvenating Face Mask
  • Apivita Express Beauty Carrot Mask

  • Clever White Whitening Strips (36 in box)
  • Dirty Works Coconut Body Butter
  • Nivea Vanilla & Macadamia Lip Butter

I have a nice little stash of sheet masks and I really love them, in fact I'm resisting the urge to do another large sheet mask haul but the truth of the matter is that I rarely use them. This has to change.

  • Sally's Box Panthenol Hydrogel Mask
  • Dermal Vegetable Placenta Sheet Mask
  • Pure Smile Pearl Essene Sheet Mask
  • Innisfree It's Real Mugwort Sheet Mask
  • Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack

  • Clinique Clarifying Lotion
  • Estee Lauder ANR
  • Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

  • Vaseline Total Moisture Dry Skin
  • Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub

  • RPR Protect My Hair
  • The O Volumising Spray
  • Edward Beale Moroccan Gloss Argan Oil Leave In Treatment
  • Schwarzkopf Dry Oil Mist Smooth & Shine

  • Seche Prep
  • Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Polish
  • Avon Colour Morphing Top Coat

  • Enesti Apple & Honey Hand Cream
  • Aveda Invati Conditioner

The following photos show how much product is in each item, some are estimates where necessary. With items that have two lines they show my January progress.

The Invati line may be a little difficult to see, it's up the top on the right.

The Sally Hansen Line is a little higher than the actual product, it shows my January progress, I didn't want to mark the bottle without making more progress first.
The Seche Prep bottle is full.

Not pictured is a White Glo Whitening Pen, it's disappeared somewhere but I'm sure I'll find it when I get around to tidying my desk properly, I also forgot to photograph the Montagne Jeunesse Mud Mask.

If you have any suggestions for me regarding how to stay focused while working on these products I'd love to hear them, some of these I've been working on since early Jan and I'm already starting to get bored with some of them!

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience. Integrity Always..

  1. What a great idea, something that's actually achievable! Good luck, looking forward to seeing your progress :)

    1. Thank you love! I feel like these Beauty Baskets will be my saving grace while I'm Project Panning all that makeup because I get so discouraged when I'm not seeing real progress while working on products. At least with this I can always use a sample or sheet mask and have that joyous little moment where I feel like I've made progress hahaha

  2. Oh wow! There's no way I can finish all of those in 1 month! Good luck and I'm crossing my fingers you use it all up!
I've used the Sanctuary body scrub and it doesn't lather that much so I was able to use a handful for every body part like each leg gets a handful each. I'm sure that one you can finish off in a month. :)

  3. This is an awesome idea- I might give it a go!
