Because why not?

Blogmas - Too Faced Sugar & Spice Palette

11 December 2014
Sugar & Spice - That's what pretty girls are made of according to Too Faced and I'd have to agree.

Too faced has released some gorgeous Christmas palettes this year and I have two to show you, today I'm going to be swatching the Sugar & Spice Palette.

The palette comes housed in a festive pink box, inside you'll find a gold glittery zip pouch which holds the palette and a deluxe sample of the Better Than Sex Mascara - I can't comment if it's better than sex or not because I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to hazard a guess and say that it isn't.

The gold pouch is quite pretty and a good size, a little bigger than what I consider standard but not so big that it's ridiculous, the down side to this is that the gold isn't woven, which means every time I hold it I find a few specks of gold glitter left behind on my hands, not a massive deal but a woven bag would have been much better.

The palette itself has the same gold glitter finish and when you open it up you'll find a medium sized oval mirror surrounded by the same festive decoration on the box that the palette comes in.

The palette features 12 eye shadows, 5 being matte and the other 7 are shimmers (ok, some are actually frosts but I'm not going to get that deep), each shadow weighs 1.11g for a total of 13.33g of product.

I messed up my swatch orders a little while taking photos, I'm sorry, essay explanation in post number two for today.

Meringue - A super soft, matte, baby pink that looks almost white on the skin until it is placed next to a true white, pigment is ok.

Champagne Truffle - Stunning shimmery, light champagne, pigment is awesome.

Coconut Cream - Matte, true white, good pigment.

Clove - Matte, cool toned taupe that is a wannabe purple, unlike anything I have owned before, pigment is good.

Pink Frosting - If there was ever to be a shadow named Pink Frosting then this was destined for that role, a cool toned, shimmery light pink, awesome pigment and I'm quite excited to play with this more!

Nutmeg - Shimmery, golden beige, pigment isn't as good as the other shimmers listed so far but still a nice colour that would respond well to a primer.

Bon Bon - Shimmery lilac with a cool undertone, again pigment isn't BAM but responds well to layering.

Cinnamon Sugar - A warm bronze with a metalic-ish finish that can make it appear cool in some light conditions. Pigment on this is not shy, it's got balls and I love it!

Biscotti - Gorgeous coppery brown with a warm undertone and impressive colour pay off.

Black Licorice - Matte black, not great, use a primer and be prepared to layer, layer, layer.

Chocolate Cake - Matte dark brown with a warm undertone and the the best pigment of all the mattes in the palette.

Sugared Violet - Deep, dark purple with a warm undertone and is a mixture of matte, shimmer and glitter, yes it's possible because that's what this colour is all about, pigment is very good.

Most of the shimmers in this palette are really good when it comes to colour pay off, some need a little more help than others but we all have a primer or cream base in our collection that can help with that. Some of the mattes leave a little to be desired but I haven't used a brush with these and I think some would respond better with a brush opposed to my finger tips. The black isn't great, I really wish companies would skip the black in their palettes every now and then, I have too many and I don't use them often enough.

The palette also comes with a little leaflette with some suggested eye looks.

Aside from swatching this palette I am not allowed to actually use it, it's a Christmas gift from mum but she agreed that it should be swatched for the blog before it sells out completely (which I think it almost has *sigh*, not fast enough getting this post up).

The Too Faced Sugar & Spice Palette retails for $52.00AUD and is selling out quite fast, check your local Mecca Maxima or Kit store for stock.

Did you manage to get your hands on the Too Faced Sugar & Spice Palette or will you be on a mad hunt for one?

Just a quick note to let you all know that I have reached the end of my 2 posts per day schedule, there will only be 2 posts a day when I need to get a Memebox post up or if something else pops up that I absolutely MUST share with you guys :)

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated.
