Blogmas - MAC Objects Of Affection Silver + Blue Pigments + Glitter Set

7 December 2014
MAC has some pretty damn nice Christmas Limited Edition items this year and when I was shopping for my Blogmas giveaway items I couldn't resist getting something for myself (ok I got a few things for myself but you'll see the other things in other posts).

The Objects Of Affection Pigment & Glitter Sets come with 4 pigments and a glitter, I picked up the Silver + Blue set, if you would like to see the other sets they have available you can check out their website here.

The pigments and glitter come housed in a beautiful oval shaped box with a glittery lid and a cameo style decoration on top, the box is stunning, it's a show piece in it's self and definitely shouldn't be hidden away in a makeup drawer.

Ok, on to the pigments!

I'm sorry about the lighting, you can blame the shitty overcast Summer that has decided to greet Melbourne.

White - This is a pearly white and would be great for an inner corner highlight or if used super sparingly could be used as a brow bone highlight or cheek bone highlight but this isn't fucking around, it's pearly white and not ashamed to be bold so be careful with it or you'll look like a weirdo.

Blue Noir - This grey based, shimmery blue can be packed on like my swatch or sheered out for a subtle dust of shimmer.

Deep Blue Green - This is almost duochrome-ish and kind of has a metallic finish, would be awesome for a true smokey eye because of the way it can go from a solid colour to sheer while still maintaining definition and depth of colour.

Grey - A simple but very sparkly grey glitter that compliments the other pigments in the set really well.

Dark Soul - Charcoal black with gold and silver micro glitter, this is fucking stunning and probably my favourite in the set.

The pigments are all super pigmented (derp) and gorgeous colours for those who like a dramatic dark eye, realistically I can't get away with dark shadows because of my eye shape but fuck rules, I buy what I like.

When using pigments I highly recommend a primer or cream base (not kidding, use one) and unless you want to cry you should always do your eye makeup before your base when using products like this because they do have crazy fall out due to the fact that they are like a coloured dust basically. Also the glitter will need a bonding agent, there are many on the market but a cream base will usually do the trick in a pinch.

The MAC Object Of Affection Pigment Sets retail for $65.00AUD and can be purchased in MAC stores or online.

Want or not a fan?

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. 1. It is a very affordable set, it works out to be only $13 for each pigment which is $5 cheaper than their size to go pigments.
