Because why not?

Blogmas - Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow Palette

19 December 2014
I spotted this palette 2 weeks ago in Aldi, it almost made it to the checkout but it was a tight week so I put it back, today (yesterday when you are reading this) I was in Aldi again and saw a lone palette sitting amongst some other beauty items and I decided it was meant to be.

I'm going to give a super quick review of the palette and give you some comparison shots of the Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow Palette and the Urban Decay Naked Palette because we clearly have a set of twins in the room.

The Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow Palette comes with 12 shadows (2 matte, 9 shimmers and 1 matte with glitter, each pan containing 1g of product) and a double ended applicator (brush and sponge) and features magnetic closure, there is no mirror, instead it has a clear window so you can view the shadows while the palette is closed, this was actually very smart because I can imagine a lot of palettes would have been opened in store had people not been able to actually see the shadows.

#1 - Cool, pale pink shimmer
#2 - Neutral, pink champagne shimmer
#3 - Neutral, matte beige that has pigment but I can't really see on my skin because I'm too tanned.
#4 - Warm, bronz-y brown shimmer, super pretty
#5 - Neutral, matte medium brown
#6 - Warm, gold shimmer

#7 - Warm, dark bronze shimmer
#8 - Neutral, chocolate brown shimmer
#9 - Warm, darkened pinkish brown shimmer
#10 - Cool, light greyish plum shimmer
#11 - Matte black with what looks like a light blue shimmer
#12 - Cool, medium grey that reflects purple and blue, awesome colour

The Comparison

As you can see we don't really have a true dupe palette here, but some are very close and I even prefer some of the Lacura shades over the UD ones colour wise, but if I'm dead honest I have to say that while this palette looks quite good for the price when it's swatched it doesn't translate so well on the eyes, I recommend a really good primer and using the brushes in the palette because they help to transfer the colour a little better. If UD is a little out of your price range but you like pretty things like this it can't hurt to give it a go, just work with it until you find a way to get nice colour pay off.

The Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow Palette retails for $9.99 at Aldi stores and if you want one run, don't walk because they are selling fast!

I'm not kidding if you want one go now.
Right now.

What do you think of the Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow palette?
