Because why not?

Blogmas - Circa Home Mini Christmas Candle Assortment

9 December 2014
I adore good quality scented candles so it's really no surprise that I'm showing you this gorgeous little trio today.

I just couldn't help myself this year, when I saw this trio while I was perusing the shelves at my local David Jones I knew I was going to buy it, along with another set.. there is actually a little story behind it.

While I was at David Jones I got to talking to one of the SA's, she was so sweet, very helpful and was happily showing us all of the Christmas releases for that year, I then wandered over to a candle display that was showcasing a bunch of miniature sets and somehow, while I was trying to put a candle back in it's home after smelling it, I managed to knock the display over, smashing multiple items and ruining some poor employees hard work.

I was mortified. I just stood there shocked, probably looking like a complete dumb ass, holding a candle lid, with my mouth hanging open and wondering how much the damage was going to cost me.

The gorgeous SA came over and took the lid from my hand which snapped me in to 'clean up' mode, she asked me not to touch anything for health and safety reasons and I could hear a little annoyance in her voice. I couldn't blame her, I'd made a mess.

For the next 15 minutes we waited for the clean up crew, I couldn't stop apologising and I told her I would pay for all of the damage. This lovely girl then proceeded to show me more Christmas releases, joke about the incident and thank me for not running away like most of their other customers do when something is damaged and she refused to let me pay for the broken items. This led to me just buying more stuff because a) I wanted them and b) she was so nice and patient that I wanted to help her reach her sales target for the day haha!

Ok, on to the candles..

The Circa Home Miniature Candle Assortment features 3 60g mini candles

Red Spiced Pear - Pear and apple with maybe cinnamon or cloves (possibly both), it kind of feels like a blend of summer and winter scents and I think is perfect for Christmas Down Under.

Cinnamon Sticks - Heavy on the cinnamon with a touch of clove. So. Damn. Good! It's like Nana's kitchen when she's making fresh, home made mince pies (I don't even like the damn things but my God the smell is amazing!)

Holiday Bliss - Elderflower and sandalwood, my least favourite in the trio but if you like sandalwood you'll love this.

I've never actually purchased one of these mini sets before, mostly because I was hesitant that they wouldn't produce the strong scent that I like but I figured it was time to take a chance because mixing candles and miniature things just makes me damn excited.

Seriously, look at these things, they are so cute!

If you've been curious about the strength of the scent in these mini's as well I'm pleased to be able to tell you that they don't disappoint! While they aren't as strong as the double wicked full size candles they are definitely noticeable and, in my opinion, worth their price tag.

The candles each come in little glass cups, which can be reused as tea light holders and if you won't be burning the candle regularly I suggest holding on to the little boxes they come in because they don't have their own lids so to avoid them getting dusty just pop them back in their boxes (which look very festive!)

The Circa Home Mini Christmas Candle Assortment retails for $29.95 and can be purchased at David Jones and the Circa Home website.

Do you like mini candles? Also have you ever destroyed a display in a department store?

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience. Integrity Always..

  1. I love me some candles! Have got my eye on at least 1 of the regular Circa Home candles for the future (Mango & Papaya - I like fruity smells). Their scent sachets are nice too, to put in your drawers/smelly handbags & the like.

RE: The incident - you poor thing! I'd feel the same way as you if I ever got into that situation.

    1. I quite like fruity scents too, especially for these hot summer months, I haven't tried their scent sachets yet, mostly because I'm not really a fan of them floating around in drawers but the idea of popping on in a handbag is great! I think I'll have to try one out now haha!

Re: The Incident - I'm going to be so much more careful in the future, I would have been up for a few hundred dollars if she had asked me to pay for it, not all SA's are so kind!
