Because why not?

Blogmas - [Aldi] Polished Brands Solid Perfume Trio

21 December 2014
A few days ago I picked up the Lacura Barely There Eyeshadow Palette from Aldi and while I was there I also grabbed a Polished Brands Solid Perfume Trio because I actually have a bit of a thing for solid perfumes, it's not the kind of thing you see very often and when they are released they are usually from very prestigious brands and they cost a small fortune.

This little set holds three solid perfumes; Dahlia, Lily & Poppy, the names are sweet, the packaging is pretty and things like this make good stocking stuffers for women of all ages.

Each tin has a slide open lid with a little catch that prevents them from opening on their own.

Poppy: (Top Notes) Red Berries, Dragon Fruit, Honeysuckle. (Mid Notes) Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Coconut. (Base Notes) Vanilla, Driftwood, Musk.

This is my favourite in the trio, it smells quite similar to Davidoff Cool Water for Women with a little extra sweetness, I'm keeping this one!

Lily: (Top Notes) Pink Peppercorn, Pear, Ruby Red Grapefruit. (Mid Notes) Peony, Rose, Geranium. (Base Notes) Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk

I haven't tried this one on my skin because peppercorn isn't a scent that I wear well but this smells really clean and soft, it's the kind of scent I would want someone to have when they are giving me a cuddle when I feel down, this is why it's being given to my bestie.

Dahlia: (Top Notes) Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit. (Mid Notes) Gardenia, Voilet Petals, Jasmine Petals. (Base Notes) Musk, Vanilla, White Woods.

Another one that I'm keeping, while Poppy feels like a summery day scent, Dahlia has a warm sultry night feel to it and they both blend quite well so I'll keep these in my bag for those long summer days and nights when I'm out getting up to Summer shenanigans with my mates.

When these are applied to pulse points and warm areas (I like inner wrists and elbows, back of the knees, between the boobs and the little hollows between the collar bones and the neck) they are quite impressive and are certainly very decent for their price.

If you're looking for last minute stocking stuffers head on down to your local Aldi and see if they have any left (mine had quite a few), the trio retails for only $9.99AUD.

Do you like solid perfumes?

  1. These look great! The only thing I wish Aldi would stop doing is copying branding from other products! Marc Jacobs Dot, Lola and Daisy all have really similar illustrations!

    1. Yeah I find copying of prints and packaging to be a bit tacky and I think it's a shame when companies do that, I much prefer them to be completely their own design.
