Because why not?

Lady Jayne - Tangleze + Tangle Teezer Comparison.

2 October 2014
Regular readers will know how much I love to write essays for my blog posts, I'm a strong advocate for a cup of tea and a good read. Well I'll spare those who don't like to read essays when it comes to beauty products; The Lady Jayne Tangleze is not a dupe for a Tangle Teezer. You're welcome.

If you're an essay lover you'll still be with me.

I received the Lady Jayne Tangleze in a prize pack from Beauty Heaven recently and I popped that little box open and used it within seconds of pulling it out of the parcel bag and seconds after that I had already formed my solid opinion of this detangling hair brush.

The Lady Jayne Tangleze is similar in style to the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler, it's designed to be safe in your bag with a protective cover for the teeth so they don't get bent out of shape. The size is convenient and overall it looks like it will be a good (and less expensive) alternative to the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler.

That is essentially where the similarities end and the crucial difference comes in to play. The bristles on the Tangleze are much firmer than the Tangle Teezer and people who are going to notice a major difference in the two are those who not only have hair that tangles easily but also have brittle hair (me). Since the Tangleze has firmer bristles they won't bend out of the way when they snag on knots, instead it will pull through them with all the force that you are using to brush through your hair which for me results in more snapping and breakage and a few choice four letter words. On the flip side when I use the Tangle Teezer I can feel where the brush is giving way to tangles and I'm able to go back in and work them out gently.

Please excuse that sneaky little hair.
The Lady Jayne Tangleze isn't a complete flop for me though, I have been using it when I know my hair is basically tangle free because it does offer amazing shine (more so than the Tangle Teezer in my opinion) but that is basically where the big props for this product end for me.

So, how do you choose between the Tangle Teezer and The Lady Jayne Tangleze? If you hair is brittle go for the Tangle Teezer, if not the Tangleze will suit you well.

The Lady Jayne Tangleze can be purchased from Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, Selected Pharmacies, Big W and Target for $12.99AUD.
