Because why not?

Dirty Works - Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub.

4 October 2014
Shortly after Dirty Works hit our shelves I went on a bit of a crazy must own all the things shopping spree and finally, fi.nal.lyyyyy, I have opened and used the majority of my last product.

You know how they say 'save the best for last'?

Yeah... I didn't do that.

The Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub comes in a 300ml tub, while the packaging looks pretty cute it's not very functional.

The scrub is fairly runny and has some major grit to it, it uses pumice, peach kernel shell and sea salt for exfoliation, although the salt is waaaay down on the inci list. The problem with this product being in a tub is that the grit gets around the edge of the tub and opening and closing it in a wet environment can be a little difficult and if you drop the tub you're going to lose most of the contents.

This scrub doesn't foam up at all so a body wash needs to be used first and while this is supposed to offer some hydration I've never used it and felt comfortable enough to not moisturise once I'm out of the shower.

My biggest issue with this scrub is the scent.. I can't work out what the scent is but it stinks, to me it smells like stale old body cream and it's not pleasant, I use it begrudgingly and I'm just glad that the tub is almost empty. Also, for a scrub this gritty it shocks me at how ineffective it actually is, it's definitely not one of the better scrubs I've used.

  • Umm, it's really gritty?
  • It's also inexpensive.

  • Not very effective at making the skin feel any softer or smoother.
  • Smells stinky, stale and old.
  • Tub is a little frustrating.

Conclusion: I don't love this product, I actually don't even like it. Using it is a bit of a chore and it doesn't deliver any joy to the exfoliating experience. That smell turns me off so much! Would not repurchase.

Dirty Works products are available nation wide at Coles stores. The Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub retails for $9.95AUD.

What was the last product you used that made you think 'Yuck!'?
