Because why not?

Come Play With Me - Futuristic Love.

30 October 2014
This post almost didn't happen, life has been.. eventful recently and I just couldn't get my head around the theme, I was brain farting all over the place every time I tried to complete a look so I decided to let this one pass. After releasing it from my list of things to do I came up with an idea but even then it was tough finding a day where I would be able to take the time to complete it but I finally got there in the end.

When I think of the future it's difficult for me to imagine that much will change drastically with the way we do things, so I took this theme down a little side road and did an old age SPFX look.

Hopefully I don't look like this in the future.

Frightening isn't it.

Old age SPFX looks aren't particularly difficult, you start with a clean face and apply a cream pigment where your natural expression lines are, there is a lot of smiling, squinting, pouting and frowning involved with this step. In the above photo you will be able to see where applying the product in several thin layers give a realistic effect (outer corner of the eye and eyelid) and in other areas where it was applied too thick it almost looks like a strange skin condition (below inner corner of the eye) or peeling sunburn (above eyebrow). Practice is necessary and I think I'm out of it.

Next you go in with liquid latex, this is definitely the most difficult part but when you know the method it's quite easy and even easier doing it to someone else. Basically again you pull faces and stipple the latex on, allowing it to dry and powdering heavily between layers, there is a specific way to apply the latex so that it appears as wrinkled skin. I'm not going to go through it step my step because it is an extensive process, it would be much easier to show you with a video but I'm not there just yet ha! You can look this stuff up on Youtube if you're interested though.

While using liquid latex is super effective for old age SPFX looks it is a fucking asshole to remove, it bloody hurts. Peeling this stuff off isn't like one of those lovely peeling masks that are fun to play with, this stuff is made to stick to the skin for hours and hours on end so you can probably imagine how it feels to peel a bond like that off your face.

This theme was chosen by Gemma of Lady Sapphire Blog and you can check out her look here.
Kat from Kats Colourings went colour crazy for her future look.
Indie from Indiana was inspired by metal for her look.
Monique from Monique Kerstin did something awesomely pretty to her eyes.

Do you think you'll be this sexy in the future??

    1. Thank you Hun!!! I wasn't overly pleased with the results, I rushed it and applied the latex too thick in many places but I was posting it no matter what, there was no way I was removing it and doing it again!

Honestly hon, this is awesome work and I'm thrilled you eventually came up with something - this theme had me all excited in the beginning, but totally stumped when it came to making it a reality xxx

    1. This was a tough theme!! But it definitely got the brain ticking and I'm really glad I managed to get a look done too :)

My neck is starting to.. not be as firm as it was a few years ago, give it 5 more years or so and I reckon I'll be blogging about cosmetic surgery hahaha, I'm not against getting help for looking young!
