Project Pan 2014 Update #4

31 October 2014
I really enjoyed this Project Pan, not that I really stuck with it when it came to no buying, the Memebox addiction is a real thing, there are many women dealing with it, although it's been almost a month since I ordered my last box so I'm doing quite well at the moment.

I reached my 50 products a little over a week ago and the process has left me with a much more organised beauty stash which is ultimately what I wanted.

Come Play With Me - Futuristic Love.

30 October 2014
This post almost didn't happen, life has been.. eventful recently and I just couldn't get my head around the theme, I was brain farting all over the place every time I tried to complete a look so I decided to let this one pass. After releasing it from my list of things to do I came up with an idea but even then it was tough finding a day where I would be able to take the time to complete it but I finally got there in the end.

When I think of the future it's difficult for me to imagine that much will change drastically with the way we do things, so I took this theme down a little side road and did an old age SPFX look.

Hopefully I don't look like this in the future.

Memebox - Special #42 OMG 3.

29 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links.

I love the OMG series from Memebox, you can see the contents of the first one here but I sadly missed the second one. While the contents aren't really what I would consider OMG they are always great value and generally contain a few gems.

If you would like to know more about Memebox you can read my Memebox Info page.

Garnier - Gentle Cleansing Milk.

28 October 2014
Before I started my Project Pan I had decided to slowly work my way through every cream, oil and balm cleanser I could find at a reasonable price (drug store), my first purchase was the Garnier Gentle Cleansing Milk.

Memebox - Superbox #61 My Cute Wishlist 3.

27 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links.

The My Cute Wishlist series are boxes that are full of 'cute' products, #1 was a hit, #2 was a bit of a flop (neither of which I received) while #3 is considered creepy and weird, right up my alley.

If you would like to know more about Memebox feel free to have a read of the Memebox Info page.

Saturday Sample - SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.

25 October 2014
I'm loving essences at the moment, I've always been of the opinion that they were a bit useless but I've used a few lately that I really liked so I'm eating my words like Cookie Monster.

Today I'm not talking about a good essence though, no, that would be too boring.. Today I'm going to talk about a really famous one that is shit.

Memebox - Special #43 K-Style 3

24 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links.

Yes it's another Memebox. If you're sick of them now just wait until November, since that's my birthday month I went crazy and have a lot of them coming.

K-Style boxes are full of Korean makeup, I received the first one which you can see here but missed the second, this is the third installment and next month I will receive the fourth in the series.

If you want to know more about Memebox then I suggest checking out my Memebox Info page, there is a lot to know and I'm so glad I don't have to write it in each post.

#1 Secret Kiss Face Fit Strobe Cream 30ml Full Size RRP $11

This is supposed to be a hydrating makeup base that helps with skin texture, containing 6 kinds of gemstone powders and various floral extracts, I dunno about that gemstone bit but this seems like the kind of illuminator that I would actually use. The effect is so majorly subtle so going overboard would be really difficult, it can be used under, mixed with or over foundation. It smells fresh and the illuminating pigment is so finely milled that it just looks like glowy skin rather than some ridiculously shimmery product. Love it, going straight in my current use makeup drawer.
Update: Used it last night, seriously love it.

#2 Vella Flower Flower B.B 15ml Full Size RRP $26

Another BB cream, I'm about to eat my words but it turns out I like BB creams. I've been using a few lately and not all of them impressed me but some are fantastic. I don't particularly believe or care for the 'skin care' side of BB creams and I always follow my usual skincare routine first but I've been enjoying them. Happy to have another but I think the colour of this one will only be suitable for winter.

#3 Tony Moly 7 Days Tattoo Eyebrow 02 Dark Brown 0.8ml Full Size RRP $8

Brow tattoo?? 7 days?? This is supposed to be applied at night 1-2 hours before bed, after 3-4 days when the colour starts to fade you just touch them up and continue with brows that look after themselves. This goes against everything that I believe when it comes to skin care and makeup but I'm going to try it out and follow up with a review.
Update: Used last night (but washed off before bed), the colour and application was great, it's almost like using water colour paint to draw on individual hairs, the difference is noticeable but the brows still look so natural and not drawn on or filled in. I will still review this as it's meant to be used but I can see this just being my standard daily brow fixer.

#4 Style Y Soft Fit Mix & Match Pencil & Powder Shadow 0.5g Full Size RRP $9
Randomly selected from 02 Brown Liner & Peach Tip, 03 Deep Choco Liner & Gold Tip

I received brown and peach, the liner is a beautiful bronze brown and is smooth and creamy, the shadow is a really pretty peach. The packaging is kind of cool, liner at one end with a shadow tip at the other, something I wouldn't buy for myself because I would wonder about quality but now that I have it and can play with it I really enjoy it!

#5 Style Y Colour Fit Creamy Lip & Cheek 5ml Full Size RRP $13
Randomly selected from 02 Smoothie Pink, 03 Raspberry

I feel like 2 in 1 lip and cheek tints are usually only good for use on one area, this one is no exception. This dries to a matte, powdery finish and is fucking gorgeous on the cheeks, has also gone straight in my daily makeup drawer. Smells great! Colour received 02 Smoothie Pink

#6 Colour World Jewelish Stick Shadow 10g Full Size RRP $13
Randomly selected from 05 Twinkle Green, 07 Starship Violet

Oh how I wish I had received the violet, green isn't a colour I wear on my eyes but god damn this is a nice shadow stick! It feels heavy and expensive, the product is smooth and creamy and it blends like a dream. I wonder if I can get away with wearing green...

Cost of box - $23 USD + $6.99USD shipping
Memevalue - $80USD
Price paid - On average I paid $23.95USD total for this box after coupons and points

I'm really happy with this box, the only fail for me was the green shadow stick but only because I don't wear green.

This box is currently sold out but I will list current makeup boxes available for purchase:

3 Day juice Cleanse - Day 3.

23 October 2014
Day 1 can be read here.
Day 2 can be read here.

10:27 am - Woke up about an hour ago after a really late night and feel pretty good. Still sick of green juice, so glad it's my last day and I won't have to drink another after this but on the other hand.. really looking forward to orange juice!!! I think I will definitely keep drinking the orange juice, it's delicious! Also planning my breakfast for tomorrow; poached egg on a piece of toast with a little avocado. I hate eggs, I eat about 3 a year when I get the rare craving for them and one of those cravings has been with me since day 1.
I dreamed that I was eating last night, I clearly haven't go over the 'head' hunger. I reckon if I was stuck on a deserted island with other people I would be the first to suggest cannibalism.

11:48 am - ORANGE JUICE IS THE BEST!! Highlight of my day.

1:27 pm - Drinking my second last green juice, SECOND LAST. I won't miss you green juice.

2:39 pm - All I can think about is food but I don't feel hungry. I just want to chew on something solid. I'm fantasizing about the poached egg. Who the fuck fantasizes about an egg!?!?

5:20 pm - Working on my last green juice, omg so close to being done.

6:01 pm - Finishe green juice, yup that how long it takes me to get through them. Yuck.

6:41 pm - I'm not just dreaming about the egg now.. I think as I get closer and closer to bedtime I'm getting more agitated, tomorrow I can eat. Bliss.

7:48 pm - Went to the supermarket for tomorrows food, torture. I'm excited for food but suspect I will only be able to eat small amounts so I refrained from buying everything that tempted me. One more sleep, one more sleep.

10:12 pm - Ok, it's bed time. I'm excited to eat tomorrow but I do feel a lot better so I can't say I regret starting this but I am oh so glad that it's over. If anyone is curious; I lost about a kilo and a half over the 3 days, like I said in my first post this wasn't about my weight though, I'm glad I didn't lose any more because I'm already slim.

Bring on the morning and breakfast!

Oh, by the way.. this is my 250th post! Yay me!

So what do you think about juice cleansing now that you have read about my experience?

3 Day Juice Cleanse - Day 2.

22 October 2014
Day 1 can be found here.

9:04 am - Woke up at 7 without an alarm feeling quite fresh but extremely comfortable so I rolled over and went back to sleep, by 8:15 my body was screaming at me to get up. I'd had such a restful sleep and just wanted to keep going but my body was awake so I got up and made my 3 green juices for the day. The green juices started out as nice but now I am fucking sick of them, in fact I am fucking sick of juice completely, but I do feel good, so much better to what I have been feeling lately so it's obviously doing me some good.

3 Day Juice Cleanse - Day 1

21 October 2014
Last week I watched Kitsch Snitch's video on doing a juice cleanse. You can watch it here.

When she said she did it because she was feeling lethargic and crappy I was sold. I have been feeling so shit lately, not the 'I'm sick and need a doctor' shit but the 'I've been eating badly and not exercising' shit, I've been doing this to the point where I know and want to make changes but I simply struggle to get off my ass during the day, I just have no energy.

When I heard how much a pre-made juice cleanse would cost I immediately decided that I would be doing my own juicing. I researched some DIY programs, settled on my recipes and set my start date. Every day in the lead up to my cleanse I researched, reading everything I could find and I was PUMPED, seriously felt excited to do this.

Memebox - Superbox #59 Halloween Special.

20 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links.

When I saw the Halloween Special box was released on the Memebox website I jumped at it, I was expecting creepy looking products. I have to admit that I didn't even read the box description until well after I had ordered it and then I realised that it was going to contain products suitable for creating looks to suit Halloween costumes and then I was a little on the fence, this wasn't something that really interested me but I kept the order hoping that there would be a few items in the box that I was happy to have.

Memebox - Superbox #45 Korea's Most Wanted*

16 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links. Also it's a long one... cup of tea long.

You all know how obsessed I am with Memebox, if you need a little more proof then the fact that I have 22 boxes coming between now and early December might help you to understand how crazy I am how much I love the service.

Packing For A Short Trip AKA What's In My Suitcase.

9 October 2014
By the time you are reading this I will be heading off for a few days away. Sounds lovely doesn't it?

Have you ever had a trip coming up that you just wish wasn't happening? That's what I have but I'm determined to make the most of it.

I'll be heading off to Terrigal for a couple of days for my cousins wedding, I really have no idea where it is other than it's on the Central Coast so I'm expecting it to be warm, I expect to lay in the sun, I expect good food and a couple of delicious cocktails that are deceivingly strong. If I don't get these things I have a tantrum bottled up and ready to go.

We (mum, dad, my grandmother and I) decided to travel light; carry on only. We figured this would be ok since we are only going for 2 nights but I actually had to do a lot of prep work to downgrade my bag from the usual check in luggage to a tiny little carry on. I am an over-packer freak, I love to take things that I won't use and I actually had anxiety while packing my luggage this time because I was making a conscious effort to pack light. Want to see how I managed?

I started with clothing and accessories...

1. Shorts - Weather report says low 20's Thursday (day I arrive) and mid 20's Friday and Saturday (day I leave). I don't care if it's snowing! I will live in these shorts while I'm there, they are my favourite; torn, stretched, faded, comfortable, the best. One pair will do because I'll likely only be able to wear them for a few hours anyway.
Original number packed: 3.

2. Tops - Two singlets and a crop because on of the singlets is very.. booby.
Original number packed: 4.

3. Pyjamas - One pair of comfy old shorts and one old singlet, I don't really own proper pyjamas and the ones that I do own aren't suitable when I'm sharing a room with mum and nan.
Original number packed: 2 sets of 2 pieces.

4. Wedding Outfit - This is a much loved favourite, Forever New skater style. Think it will go well with pastel purple hair?
Original number packed: 1, I'm only a little bit crazy.

5. Belt - Goes with the dress and will match my shoes.
Original number packed: 1

6. Accessories - A pair of multi-coloured leaf earrings (which I may not wear, will decide on the day), a cuff bracelet and a black bow ring.
Original number packed: 2 necklaces (opted to wear my usual cross because I don't like to take it off), 3 rings, 2 bracelets, an anklet and 3 pairs of earrings.

7. Underwear - Figured I'd save you the trauma of looking at my dainties! I have 2 pairs of socks, 2 g-strings and 2 pair of nickers in the delicates bag.
Original number packed: As listed above except I had 2 bras in there too, I'm a bra re-wearer so I definitely wouldn't have used the spares and I plan to be in bathers during my free time anyway.

8. Bathers - One pair will do, I always wash after using and hang to dry so the material isn't destroyed by sunscreen/salt/chlorine.
Original number packed: 2.

9. Wedding Shoes - I had a super hard time with this one.
Original number packed: 3, they wouldn't fit.

10. Hat - I like to wear a hat when I'm in the sun, so this was essential.
Original number packed: 1, the only one I have.

So here are the clothes and accessories, the last minute changes that I made were putting the shoes in a delicates bag and adding a pair of thongs so I didn't have to wear heels down to the pool (not that I'd have a problem with that but after a few drinks it could be dangerous).

Next I moved on to skin care/hair/body/etc..

1. Hair Brush and Hair Tie - I'm cheating a little bit here because I will take my Tangle Teezer Compact Styler in my handbag but the paddle brush is essential for drying my hair before styling.
Original number packed: I would have liked to bring 3 with me.

2. Sunscreen - This one is for the body, since I actually don't like sunscreen it was easy for me to only pack one.
Original number packed: 1.

3. Cotton Pads and Tips - The cotton pads I counted out, having a rough idea of how many I would need for each night, the cotton tips I just grabbed a few in case.
Original number packed: Whole roll of cotton pads and a generous handful of cotton tips.

4. Hair Clips - For making hair styling easier, when your hair is halfway down your back things like this are a serious help.
Original number packed: 4, I like to use maaaaany clips. I can make do with 2.

5, 6 & 7. Philosophy Purity Face Wash, Lancome Bi-Facil, Vaseline Q10 Body Lotion - When I did my 'practice run pack' I was frustrated at how bulky all my skin care products were, while mum was lifting my case and shaking her head I was holding back tears of frustration. Then I stopped being a dick head and remembered that I have a million travel size samples stashed away. Now I'm holding back tears of joy.
Original number packed: Full size bottles of my usual face wash, makeup remover and body lotion.

8 & 9. Next to number 8 is a lilttle bottle of Kosmea Youth Boosting something, it's basically a facial oil and it's so teeny that it got lost in the picture when I was numbering everything, this will be my night serum, number 8 is a Malin & Goetz lip balm and 9 is my prescribed spot treatment.
Original number packed: As above, they are all my current products in use and I didn't feel any of them needed to be downsized.

10, 11 & 12. QV Cream, Easydew Sunscreen & Clinique Even Better Eyes - The QV cream is for my feet, I have eczema and it can't be ignored. The Easydew sunscreen is great for the face and will see me through the few days that I'm there and the Clinique eye cream is almost finished and I can't wait for it to be done!
Original number packed: As above except for the QV Cream, I was going to bring a full size tub of my usual stuff.

13, 14 & 15. Dermalogica Microfoliant, Live Clean Daily Moisturiser, People For Plants Night Cream - Also majorly bulky until I had a flash of non-stupidity and decanted a little of each in to mini pots.
Original number packed: As above in full size bottle and tubes.

16. Puretopia Toner - I recently finished the Dermalogica toner and the bottle was still sitting on my desk, so while I was decanting products I thanked God that I keep all my empties for blog posts and after washing it out I poured in a little of my current toner.
Original number packed: Full size bottle.

17. Colgate Travel Essentials (Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Mouth Wash, Floss) - Picked this up at Chemist Warehouse, I usually use an electric toothbrush and was shopping for a standard one when I spotted this and decided it was a good little pack to have, I tossed in some of my favourite flossers because I know I won't want to use the normal stuff.
Original number packed: As above.

18. Razor - Locked and loaded with a fresh blade!
Original number packed: Just the one.

19 & 20. Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner - Dear people who make little bottles; I love you.
Original number packed: Full size bottles.

21, 22, 23 & 24. GHD, Dove Deodorant, Brush Cleaner, Kerastase Leave In Treatment - I called the hotel to see if they had hairdryers in the rooms, they do and I know it will be shit but I must pack light! Brush cleaner is extremely necessary as I always spot clean after using my brushes. The hair treatment is also necessary, my hair won't suffer any more than it has to while I'm away.
Original number packed: As above but the brush cleaner and hair treatment were in full size bottles.

Here we are post skin/hair/etc packing, so far so good. I have a little more space to spare and I don't feel like I'll be going without. Also I didn't add a single extra thing that wasn't listed!

Finally; Makeup!!...

1. Memebrush Set, Tweezers & Extractor Tool - The Memebrush set is awesome, I'm seriously in love with it and it has just about everything that I'll need. The tweezers and extractor are for emergencies.
Original number packed: As above, I was surprised at how easy it was to pass up the rest of my brushes for this set.

2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7. Australis Tint My Brow, Maybelline Concealer, Secret Key Sweet Glam Tint Glow, Revlon Balm Stain, Bobbi Brown Mascara, Flormar Gel Pencil - Cutting down the makeup was hard, let's not speak of it ever again.
Original number packed: EVERYTHING!

8 & 9. Illamasqua something-or-other (cream pigment) & Bobbi Brown Gel Liner - The Illamasqua pigment is used as a colour corrector for my crazy dark circles and I'll never be without my gel liner.
Original number packed: Just these ones, they are my go-to's.

10, 11 & 12. Crown Brush Deluxe Blending Brush, Dermalogica Age Smart Primer & Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation - Since the Memebrush set doesn't come with a fluffy blending brush I wasn't going to leave home without one. The primer and foundation are go-to's as well.
Original number packed: As above.

13. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light - Fave as a highlighter, soft blush and blush booster.
Original number packed: This one and The Wardrobe.

14. Naked 1 Palette - Fucking eye shadows, while the palettes may be compact they are too damn big for carry on!
Original number packed: This one, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and Smashbox Full Exposure Palette.

15, 16 & 17. Illamasqua Setting Powder, Essence Blush & Manicare Glam Eyes Miranda Lashes - These were all easy since they are the only ones in my rotation at the moment. Yes I only have one blush and it's cheap and fantastic!
Original number packed: As above.

18. Ralph Lauren Ralph - I struggled with perfume, I knew I wanted to take small bottles in case they leaked (has happened to me on a plane, at least my bag smelt good for a while). All the sample sizes I had didn't really feel like a good representation of 'me' so I went with an oldie but a goodie. If it leaks I'll be upset because I do really love this perfume but it's almost empty so I will only cry a little bit.
Original number packed: 5 sample tubes.

And I'm done!!! I didn't add anything extra to my makeup but you will be able to see on the right a glowmesh clutch and a packet of strong painkillers which mum reminded me about as I was taking the final photos for this post.

So I'm off on my trip, pray for sun, no family drama, that my elderly nan doesn't get too exhausted and that I get to lay by the pool with at least one cocktail!! Oh and I might try to be Instagram happy with this trip so if you'd like to see pictures feel free to follow me!

L'Oreal - Skin Perfection Range*

8 October 2014
When I was offered the opportunity to trial this new range by Beauty Heaven I was so stoked, the idea of being offered a whole range of products suited to helping women in my age group to keep their skin in tip top shape sounded like a blessing!

It wasn't.

Dirty Works - Glow Girl Buttery Salt Scrub.

4 October 2014
Shortly after Dirty Works hit our shelves I went on a bit of a crazy must own all the things shopping spree and finally, fi.nal.lyyyyy, I have opened and used the majority of my last product.

You know how they say 'save the best for last'?

Yeah... I didn't do that.

Memebox - Global #15

3 October 2014
This post contains affiliate links - Just so you know!

My Memebox Global #15 arrived recently and as per usual I'm not disappointed.

If you want to know more about Memebox you can check out the Memebox tab at the top of the page, since Memebox is still fairly new it's easier for me to have a page that delivers all the information about the service rather than putting it all in each post or just giving vague information, also it's easier for me to keep my coupon codes there so if you want to make an order, you can easily find a code when you want it (seriously, you never have to pay full price for a Memebox!). Enough talk.

The Box!!

Lady Jayne - Tangleze + Tangle Teezer Comparison.

2 October 2014
Regular readers will know how much I love to write essays for my blog posts, I'm a strong advocate for a cup of tea and a good read. Well I'll spare those who don't like to read essays when it comes to beauty products; The Lady Jayne Tangleze is not a dupe for a Tangle Teezer. You're welcome.

Subscription Box - Monstrositea October 2014.

1 October 2014
With a heavy heart I announce that this is my last Monstrositea box, my 6 month sub has come to an end and since I have plans to sub to a new type of box in 2015 that will give you an insight in to something else that is much loved in my life I have decided not to renew, Monstrositea has really helped me to broaden my horizons when it comes to tea and I've not only learnt about new types that i really enjoy but different brands that provide tea, I was once stuck in a world of supermarket boxes and T2 and now I've discovered a plethora of other brands that will literally have me trying new teas until the day I die.

Let's dry our teary eyes and see what the October Monstrositea box has to offer.
