Because why not?

Project Pan 2014 Update #3

30 September 2014
It's been a very quite month on this blog which means it's been a fucking absurdly busy month IRL. If September was a person I would have gagged him, hog tied him and locked him in a basement because it was so in my face and obnoxiously demanding. Busy days aside I did manage to use up a few things.

#27 Tresemme Naturals Radiant Care Conditioner x2 - No longer using this as my sole washing product but I still go through a lot of it so they will continue to count 2 of these bottles as one product. Not much to say other than it's a great mixing product for my colour and it's cheap!
Repurchase? Yes, always have a backup.

#28 Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo - Love Batiste, cherry isn't my fave scent though.
Repurchase? The brand yes but this particular scent doesn't do it for me.

#29 L'Oreal Professional Expert Silver - Awesome purple shampoo, highly recommend!
Repurchase? Most likely, I want to try other brands but mum used this a few times and wants this exact one again so we will duke it out for the decider.

#30 Swisspers Cucumber Wipes - These don't smell like cucumber and aren't moist enough! They made me swear often.
Repurchase? No.

#31 Cutex Nourishing Nail Polish Remover - This is my preferred brand when it comes to nail polish remover but I'm often drawn in by cheaper alternatives so I flip flop all the time.
Repurchase? Yes, already have.

#32 Coles Cosmetic Sponges - These were a last minute emergency purchase for a job, it contained a mish mash of different shapes and sizes, first to go were the wedges. That left me with a bunch of flat round sponges that I rarely use, I have a few left but I'm not going to keep the bag when they sit nicely in one of my makeup organisers.
Repurchase? Not likely unless I find myself needing them for a job and unable to find just the wedges elsewhere. Once I work through the last few that I have I'll pick up a Beauty Blender for myself because I do like the finish of a sponge.

#33 Dirty Works Buff Your Stuff Body Scrub (Review) - Not a shit scrub but I really don't like the scent.
Repurchase? No and I'm struggling through another Dirty Works scrub that stinks too *cries*

#34 Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ (Review) - Holy Grail alert! Best fucking facial oil EVER. Ok well.. I've only tried a few but this one does amazing things for me, it even told me I was beautiful and cooked me dinner once. Seriously.
Repurchase? Yes and already have a backup.

#35 Nivea Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream SPF 30+ (Review) - Hated this. Downgraded it to a body cream and it even sucked at that.
Repurchase? You couldn't pay me enough to own this again.

#36 TruValue Cotton Balls - Can we just take a minute to think back to those times when one of our loved ones has purchased something we use often in bulk so that we don't have to worry about running out and then it turns out that the type/style/scent/packaging that they bought 50 of is fucking terrible and are gremlins in disguise that multiply through the night and make you want to cry. That's what these cotton balls are. I have just a few left in the container that I hold them in and then I will be free forever!
I love you mum but please don't do this to me again.
Repurchase? Yes, so I can set the worlds supply of them on fire and be rid of them for good!

#37 Dr. Lewinn's Hand & Nail Cream - LOOK GUYS!!! I actually managed to finish a full size hand cream, the Angels are with me!! I actually loved this hand cream and now that I've opened another all I can think about is how much it sucks compared to this one.
Repurchase? One day for sure, but not until I have used every single hand cream that I have hoarded over the past 12 months.

#38 Revlon Colourstay Longwear Nail Enamel Base Coat - Loved this when I purchased it and continued to love it until I could no longer use it, it did dry up fairly quickly when I was nearing the bottom of the bottle though which is pretty annoying.
Repurchase? I think this range has been discontinued?? Or they renamed it?? Anyway, no, there are some other brands I'd like to try plus my stash needs to be worked on first.

Single Use and Samples

#39.1 Skinvitals Hydraflex Multi-Peptide 3D Cloth Mask - Did nothing for me. Disappointing.
Repurchase? No.

#39.2 & 3 White Glo Whitening Strips x2 - I don't mind these, they work quite nicely on me.
Repurchase? Eh, maybe. I have a few left I think and a box from another brand so will use them up first.

#39.4, 5 & 6 Tritica Stay Young Premium Skin Essential x3 - I think this was a serum, smelt good and was ok. Kinda hard to develop an opinion with such a small amount of product.
Repurchase? No.

#39.7 Pilaten Black Head Pore Strip - This stuff was weird! It was like a peel off mask but the colour was an intense black. Was fun but didn't do a whole lot for me.
Repurchase? No.

#39.8, 9 & 10 - Napro Super Soft Sheer Moisture 1 min Intensive Mask x3 - These were a whole lot of nothing for me, my hair needs hard core, in-your-face, straight up gangsta moisture, not this sheer crap.
Repurchase? No.

Crap for the BIN!!

Clarins Gentle Facial Peeling - Old, so horribly old.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation - I have 2 of these, I'm trying to make my way through one and it's never ending! This one I'm not bothering with, I hate this foundation.

Tweezeme Tweezers - Had these for many many years, they are just aren't effective anymore.

Nude By Nature Natural Mineral Lipliner - I don't know how this keeps happening but Nude products just keep popping up in my stash. I can't stand them! This is dry and doesn't wear well. Hate.

Wondering what I purchased this month?
I'm gonna come right out and say it; my Memebox obsession is going strong, I'm not trying to fight it. I also had a field day(s) at Ikea picking up an Alex 9 Draw and 5 Draw along with a Micke Desk, 3 Godmorgon Draw Inserts and a Rissla Desk Organiser.

Beauty buys included tweezers, coconut oil, nail polish remover and a Conair dual sided LED mirror (something that's been on my list for a loooong time). My naughty purchase (aside from the Memeboxes) was the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, I spotted it while buying the mirror in Myer and mum encouraged me to buy it straight away since I had missed out last time around, I'm glad I got it though because I was pissed when I put it off last year and it sold out.

Also grabbed a LBD for a funeral and a nail polish pump dispenser from Daiso.

The Alex 9 draw unit has allowed me to clean up my hoarding pile significantly and also organise my stash much better, I feel like the problem is a bit more hidden now but it feels a lot neater which I just love and I'm able to see where my problems really lay now...

This is the 'body' draw.. it's mostly moisturisers and 99% of them are unopened, there is a lot going on here, it's one of the deep draws and I know that i need to make a conscious effort to not obtain any more body products. Might be time to take some of these to the local womens shelter.

Another deep draw, this one filled with hair products, a lot of them being sample and travel size products. Considering that my normal hair routine consists of 3 Kerastase products and an extra one when I'm doing a treatment along with coconut oil it's pretty fucked up but since they have been 'organised' like this I do find myself reaching for the odd product to use them up so hopefully in time this won't be an issue anymore.

This is the skincare draw (a shallow one), I thought skincare would be a huge issue for me but it's not that bad! I know I need to start using toners again (have started to reincorporate them in to my routine) and I discovered I have some masks I can play with!

This is my most loved draw, it contains unopened makeup and sometimes I just like to open it up and touch the things.. I also think it's a little weird that I have these things and feel like the palettes should be open and in use but.. they are just so perfect in their packaging.

My 'pile' now consists only of the Lime Crime bag shown in my old update photos with just a few bulky items that won't fit in to my Alex unit until I make a little space.

So a little recap of my Project Pan 50:
July finished 14 products
August finished 12 products
September finished 13 products

There are a few items that almost made the cut this month but instead they will be finished up over the next few days and help to inspire me by slowly filling my empties bag again, I only need 11 more to finish off my Project Pan for this year and I'm excited to see it over!! Although, lets face it, i have no self control and still buy beauty products when I'm on a Project Pan because fuck rules.

Are you bad at following self imposed rules as well??

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience. Integrity Always..

  1. I suck at no buys! I could do with sticking with one, but I find it impossible. I've decided to start doing empties posts, I love reading them, so I figured that I might as well post them on my blog also. Anyway, one of the items that are being put in the bin without finishing is a Nude lip pencil also, lol. It's horrible to use, hated it, too!

    1. It's so hard Indie!! I've failed two project pans now and I find when I'm not allowed to buy is when I really want to spend!! I really do love working towards a goal of finishing items though so I'll do something again next year also but I'm not going to restrict my buying at all next time because it just doesn't work for me hahah

  2. Loved reading this post! And I loved how I could snoop through your draws via my bedroom.. haha I love looking at other people stash/storage and like you sometimes I love to just look through and touch my unopened items- I'm such a weirdo! But I will say one thing- OPEN THE CHOCOLATE BAR PALETTE ITS SO BEAUTIFUL PLEASE OMG

    1. I love seeing other peoples collections but it's a major trigger for me and usually results in a shopping spree shortly after. #noselfcontrol

I do need to open that palette! I have looked at it a few times recently and had the urge to play with the colours so I think it'll be moving to my regular makeup draw very soon!
