Because why not?

Memebox - Special #16 OMG Box.

20 August 2014
If you want to know more about Memebox I recommend reading the start of this post. No broken records today.

When I got the email debuting the OMG box I became slightly psychotic while placing the order on my phone and even snarled at a person who was trying to get my attention while I was clearly busy with making a life altering purchase.
You all know I love weird stuff but when you combine makeup and skincare with weird I just can't deal with the level of 'must have' that flows through my veins. I am a crazy person.

This box is supposed to deliver "weirdly awesome, yet effective beauty treasures" and contains 6 full size items. The price of the box was $29.00USD and the contents value is $153.00USD.

I'm going to be dead honest with my first impressions because that's the way I roll.

The boxes are presented beautifully, on opening the box you find an information card which really comes in handy with these products especially if you can't read Korean.

Oh man, the goodies!!

1. Hope Girl Night Diva Gloss in 01 Pink Drop 6g $22 - Ok so this is a two toned lip gloss, I'm sure you can see in the picture where the two layers sit, it also has a little button you can press on the applicator that activates a light and it has a mirror on the back (if you guys want to see more indepth photos of these kinds of products in the future, please let me know, sometimes I take a million but wonder if it's too much). Personally I'm not a lip gloss girl, there are very few that I actually like and have yet to swatch this because if I don't like the consistency I want to be able to pass it on to a friend while it's still a nice fresh gloss. To me, this isn't an OMG product, it's a pink and coral gloss that will blend on application with a light for applying in the dark, perhaps I'm not wowed because I've seen much weirder in the past.

2. Skinaz Premium Vitablet  39g $46 - This is a vitamin skin cleanser in tablet form, you drop a tablet in a bowl of water and splash your face with it at the last stage of cleansing, these can also be dissolved in water and used as a face mist, hair treatment or in the bath, I didn't break the seal to show you up close what they look like because opening another cleanser right now would make me an idiot. I'm pretty excited to try these out though and they are certaily much different to anything I have ever seen or used before.

3. Skinaz The Kissable 24HR Lip Tattoo (mine looks red in the tube but is quite orange so I assume the colour is Kiss Orange) 13g $18 - This is definitely OMG. Basically it looks like a lip gloss, is applied like a lip gloss, feels like a lip gloss but is not a lip gloss (AMEN!). You apply to the lips and wait 10-15 minutes for it to dry and then peel off your lips, finish with a balm or whatever and you'll have a lip stain that will last you 24 hours. This shit doesn't BUDGE and it's weird so I love! (Pictures below).

4. Pure Smile 3 Step Bust Pack 1 Set $6 - This is a three step mask for your twin sisters. Since receiving this I have tried to work out a way of reviewing this in depth without being borderline pornographic.. I'm still working on it. Strange and awesome.

Looks sticky..

After allowing to dry and peeling away it's awesome!

5. Ladykin Aqua Exfoliator For Body 150ml $14 - This is a fluid exfoliator, I've tried a couple before (one for the face, one for the body) and when I first discovered this type of product my brain knew there was something shifty going on. These are a liquid with no exfoliating beads, it's like thick water. You apply it to your skin and then rub it in and it appears that your dead skin starts to ball up and can just be rinsed off the skin but what is actually happening is that an ingredient called carbomer is interacting with the oil on your skin causing this balling effect, so it's not your skin being exfoliated at all. This one contains some good ingredients like papaya and pineapple extract which can exfoliate but I wouldn't expect any major exfoliation. I'll try this out but I'm not blown away by it.

6. Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask 100g $46 - Mud mask excite!!! This is seriously OMG, it looks like a clay mask but when it's applied to the skin it starts to foam up, it's not instant but happens slowly going from a grey mud to a white foam all on it's own, I've tried to find an English translation of the ingredients so I could work out what was causing this but for now we'll just have to call it magic.

Feels a little bouncy and wobbly.. like jelly but stickier.

My swatch turned to foam.. WTF OMG!!

Overall I'm loving this box, sure there were a couple products that didn't excite me but the concept and the majority of the contents really hit the mark for me. I am a happy little weirdo.

  1. Ok, I somehow haven't gotten into these because I find most Asian cosmetics too pale for my skin, and I'm also too freaked out to use skincare when I don't know what's in it (or if it's too weird, like snail whateveryoucallit).

I really like the sound of that weird peel off lipstick/gloss/whatever and the magic mask though!

And um, good luck with the mask for your twins. :P What's it supposed to do, anyway?!

    1. Yeah, most Asian cosmetics are aimed at those with lighter skin so I can see that that would be a major drawback, as for the skincare I'm also a little concerned about that, some stuff I have easily found the ingredients specified in English on the web but others elude, I'm not majorly concerned because they generally have really high standards when it comes to creating skincare in Asian countries but I will still go ahead with caution haha!

I'm so excited to try the mask, I'm thinking tomorrow will be a good time to give it a test run and the lip thing is fun and strangely odd!

The boob mask is basically just a 'skin beautifier' and moisturising treatment, I haven't used it yet because I legitimately do want to review it but I'm trying to work out how to do it tastefully hahaha, I think I will just have to show the different components of it because I can't be flashing too much skin, I'm not that bold!

    1. I've still yet to use either of them Indie! I'm scared of the lip tattoo because it comes off orange and I do not rock orange well! The face mask goes unused simply because I haven't had the time to really play with it yet.
