Also I did keep my Project Pan in mind here, I bought a Small Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap for brush cleaning and a small Live Clean Argan Oil Treatment, both products that I don't have a serious excess of.

Each bag contains a set of five base products that will be in every bag available.

David Jones Beauty Vitamin E Enriched Day Cream 60ml - Heavily scented like grandma and contains mineral oil, retinyl palmate (a form of vitamin A) and salicylic acid, although the last two are fairly low on the inci list. Take it as you will.

David Jones Beauty Vitamin E Night Cream 60ml - Eactly the same as the day cream. Exactly. Take that as you will too.

Kosmea 24/7 Youth Boost 3ml - I freakin' love these Kosmea samples, glass bottle with a mini eye dropper. Killing it Kosmea. Youth Boost is supposed to help with lines and wrinkles, enhance moisture and just be generally good for anti-ageing.

Molton Brown Orange & Bergamont Body Wash 30ml - Smells great and so perfect for travel, I have actually pilfered these from hotel rooms and left the maid generous tips every time she restocked the bathroom. Have you seen the prices of Molton Brown? Pwoar.

OPI Nail Lacquer 3.75ml - I recieved Chillin' Like a Villain in bag 2 & Kermit Me to Speak in bag 1.

Tote One (Black Tag)

Blinc Mascara 0.7g - I adore tube mascaras but I've not tried Blinc before so I'm pretty excited to try this out. I actually much prefer small sized mascaras too, I don't feel like it's such a waste of product when I have to toss it out after a few months.

Circa Home Pear & Lime Mini Candle 60g - If this smells like Pear & Lime then I'm a fucking Unicorn and life has got some explaining to do. All I smell is Sandalwood for days but it is super dooper cute and I'm predicting that I will struggle to light this and destroy it's sheer perfection.

Crabtree & Evelyn Verbeena & Lavender Hand Therapy 25g - Ahh hand creams, I feel like these are the bane of my existence and as quickly as I give one away I have another 2 taking it's place some how, but just in the last couple of weeks I find that I'm actually using the tube of hand cream on my bedside table so perhaps I will actually start using them properly! I wasn't majorly excited about the lavender aspect but when I smelt it I thought of citrusy cleaning products and I wasn't sad. Yes, I know. Weirdo.

KORA Organics by Miranda Kerr Slection of 3 Skincare Sachets 2-5ml - I received the Purifying Day & Night Cream, Foaming Cleanser and Luxurious Rosehip Oil. There was also a $5.00 off coupon for the new Mist formulations. The foil packets aren't really my idea of a good sample but they are handy if I'm spending a night away from home and want to keep my travel shit to a minimum, the coupon is just a waste of space, I don't feel the need to spend $40.00 on a toner when there are some amazing toners available for less than half the price.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer 14ml - Received one of these in the A/W Sampler Totes, not having to buy full size primers doesn't make me sad because I think they are mostly pointless save for a few situations, will definitely use though. Slowly.

People For Plants Cleanser & Eye Makeup Remover 30ml - I'm so excited about this, cream cleansers are a major fave of mine and when they remove makeup really well I just feel like they deserve a little pedestal of gold. The best cream cleanser that I have found so far is the Puretopia Whisk Away Cleanser but this People By Plants brand has had me so intrigued and I have a few products waiting to be opened. I'm spewing excitement.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3 in 1 Cleanser 30ml - I received one of these in my Mecca Beauty Loop box as well so I'll be able to give it a good trial phase, also travel friendly. Joy!

Most excited about the contents of this bag, everything will not only be used but I'm actually excited to open them up and have a play.

Tote Two (White Tag)

Batiste Brunette Dry Shampoo 50ml - Ahh I'm a blonde (actually lavender, but that's neither here nor there because I'm a far cry from being a brunette). Will hold on to this for when I go back to my natural colour or a brunette friend is crying out for dry shampoo.

Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel 30ml - Never sad to see Dermalogica in these bags NEVER.

Guerlain Shower Gel 30ml - I received the L'Homme Ideal. Smells like man.

Live Clean Fresh Face Glowing Daily Serum 30ml - This has me a little intrigued. It's a serum and I like serums. It has impressive ingredients at the start of the inci list and the junky stuff at the end, I like that too. Excited to try this.

Loving Tan Picture Perfect 5ml - This is body makeup, I received the colour Dark and when I squeezed it out of the tube it looked like... Well it looked dark. It has no scent and claims that when it sets it won't move. I rubbed a little on my hand and it actually looks quite nice when it's blended and set, just gives the skin a little depth of colour. May use in summer to touch up uneven tan spots.

Napoleon Perdis Deluxe Sized Lipstick or Primer 5ml - So I got the primer sample and while I'll likely try it out I'm not super excited about it. I just don't like Napoleon Cosmetics, not sure why but if it were a person I'd probably just want to punch it. I dunno.

Weleda Skin Food 10ml - Another great little sample for travel. Happy face.

This bag is less exciting, there are a few things I'm excited about and I'll definitely use the contents but I think bag one shits all over bag two.

Before we finish up I'd just like to mention the Tote Bag, this one is really nice and not on the tacky train that the A/W faux patent leather bag was on (which I didn't mind at the time but every time I look at it now I feel a small amount of shame). It's a pretty cream canvas with a map of Sydney on one side and David Jones discreetly printed on the other. I am actually likely to use this one

  1. They look great! I wish I had a David Jones in my state. By the way L'Homme means The man. That would be why it smells like a man :)

    1. They are nice little treat aren't they. This was a time consuming post to put together but I had such fun playing with all the goodies! I was actually quite pleased with the Guerlain shower gel, when I saw it I realised that L'Homme was probably one of the 5 words that I actually remembered from my travels in France, I laughed out loud when I thought about that in depth. France; the home of beautiful men hahahaha.

  2. I got bag number one.
My local David Jones only had mini OPI topcoats rather than an actual colour (and I know as I went through them all lol!) which was disappointing.
It's strange too that I got a David Jones vitamin E body lotion instead of the day cream even though that's what the bag had listed as the contents...
Overall very happy with it though :)

    1. Oh that's disappointing about the nail polish! I guess top coats and base coats are always handy but I think it's nicer to have a colourful treat!

I've noticed the contents can vary from store to store, with the A/W bags instead of getting one Dermalogica sample I ended up with a couple that were the equivalent in weight to the original listing so they must run out of the listed samples BUT I would have thought that the DJ's branded products would be set in stone so I'm surprised that you received a body lotion.

  3. Thanks for posting, I am also thinking of getting one but still confused which one to pick. I agree that this time it is not as exciting as normally they are. NP primer sample looks very tiny while KORA samples are also not so attractive. I do not like those brand which are not generous enough in giving reasonable size of samples. In last year's DJ tote, SK II gave 30ml facial treatment essence which cost around 40$, I really enjoy using that one, but this time I have not found that kind of product in this tote.

    1. Yeah it can be really difficult choosing, especially when there are a few things you aren't sure that you will actually use. For me bag one was the best buy as I will use everything AND the contents were exciting for me, if I wasn't blogging I wouldn't have got bag two just because the contents weren't as appealing to me. Sometimes these bags are so amazing but other times it misses the mark unfortunately.

  4. Your Circa Home Pear & Lime Mini Candle comment made me laugh! You're a unicorn and I'm a fairy! hahaha And yes, I totally agree with you that KORA Organics are quite overpriced!
Thanks for the very detailed post! I love reading the descriptions for each product! Although I won't be buying a tote, it's nice to see the goodies that you can get! :)

    1. It is kinda nice to see the contents up close isn't it, I always google the Priceline goody bags that I pass up on, even when I think the contents are crap I just like to have a good look haha

  6. Bag One is definitely the pick of the two. I like the canvas bag too, cute and would probably use it for the beach or something.
I don't like Napoleon, the packaging is so cheap trying to look expensive or something. Apologies to anyone who loves the brand. It just isn't my thing. I usually like to support Australian companies too. So not sure but I am glad it is not just me.

    1. Ahhhh YES!!! That's exactly what I think of Napoleon!! I have nothing against the people who like it (and now that I've put it out there that I don't like the brand I'll likely try a product and love it and have to eat my words) but I think it looks and performs like cheap makeup with a price tag that screams "I'm good because I'm expensive so buy me!", just makes me dislike it even more.

  7. Omg! Just found your site! Wonderful review. I ordered bag one online yesterday and was very surprised to see a blogger review on it already, well done :-) I was also not too enthused with the Kora sachets but as you said, good for an overnighter. Keep up the great work!

  8. Your post made me laugh, I can really concur with many of the points you made! Grandma scented was a nice touch. ;)

I think I might sit this one out..It's somehow not as exciting as the previous years! If I really had to pick, though, I'd probably go the black tote..I'm not as excited now that I know the candle isn't quite the scent I hoped it would be!
