Because why not?

Come Play With Me - How Low Can You Go?

23 June 2014
So we are back with more of the Come Play With Me series, this time Monique from Moniquekerstin chose the theme and that has led us to a very difficult question.. How low can you go?

I kicked a puppy once, that's pretty low right?.. I SWEAR I have NEVER kicked a puppy, I love the fuzzies with four legs, It's meant to be a joke. Bad one maybe but I never said my sense of humor was a good one.

So back to it, Monique set the bar high (low?) with only 5 products used to produce her look which you can see here. Indie then followed with her look featuring 8 products which really isn't too shabby, I mean; we are beauty bloggers so you can imagine it's difficult for us to put down the 20 items that we like to use and actually limit ourselves.

My 'quick' routine usually features around 12 products, so I thought I could probably do 6 but when I finally sat down to do it my MUA brain kicked in and I managed to do a full face with just 4 products.

Yes I know I'm only holding 3 products but I wasn't willing to risk the life of my MAC Kid shadow by taking it out of the safety of it's palette, I've already gouged a hole in it trying to swap the pans around.

Maybelling Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup was used for foundation and then layered for concealing under my eyes, MAC Kid eye shadow was used as a colour wash for my lids and then to fill my brows. I took a leaf out of Monique's book and re-purposed my eye product Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink was used as an eyeliner everywhere (eyelid, tightline, waterline) and I even used it as a mascara, applying with an itty bitty fan brush. Benefit Posie Tint was used as a blush and lip colour, as a lip colour it's ok but as a blush this stuff sucks!

Then I wondered what I would look like if I had no chin...

Have concluded that I like the chin I was given.

Don't forget to check out the other girls looks and for Baby Jesus' sake Come Play With Us!!

What general makeup item do you think you'll be using until the day you die? Mascara wins it for me I think.

Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying. Items marked * were sent to me for trial and consideration, all other products were purchased by myself and I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience. Integrity Always..

  1. You clever gal! 4 products? That's crazy, but you and your chin look amazing!
Ok, what makeup item will I wear until I die, when I have no lips left for lipstick, and my hoods cover my entire lid, mascara will be the one product that I also won't give up wearing.
    :)

  2. Holy damn woman 4 products is amazing, and Lookin hot even without a chin!! Haha had a good ol' chuckle at the 'set the bar high (low?)'. And I have to agree with both you and Indie, I look like a weird blonde alien without mascara so I'll be taking it with me to the grave!

    1. HAHAHA! Mine looks like it's alright but it didn't pass the test of wearing, after an hour I had major panda eyes and the cheek stain made my skin look like I had some horrible contagious disease but it was fun re-purposing my products so I think I'll experiment more just for a change now and then

  4. That's amazing. Eye gel as mascara-wowsers. Wonder if mascara work applied with a thin brush as a liner. I have used lipstick as blush before when caught out.
Thankyou for getting the grey matter working or should that be pink matter when it is makeup brains?

    1. Monique used her mascara as a liner in her 'how low can you go' look but she did say that it wasn't the best multitasking product, I wouldn't use the gel liner as a mascara again unless I was super desperate, gave me panda eyes!

I was going to use a lipstick as blush in this post but I'm trying to use up that damn posietint mini haha!

  5. You look stunning! Haha, I do repurpose some of my products but I don't think I could give away with liner as a mascara, my lashes are awfully stubborn!

I love the look of posietint on your cheeks though!

And I actually think you look adorable without a chin! :D
