Because why not?

Tangle Teezer - Compact Styler, Invisibobble & Giveaway.

2 May 2014
While I was at Salon Melbourne this year I visited the Tangle Teezer booth, I knew I wanted the Compact Styler but it turns out I could get the Aqua Splash for an extra $5.00 so I kind of figured I may as well grab that, I'd also seen the Invisibobble reviewed online and wanted to put it to the test so I threw my money at them and did just that.

The whole Tangle Teezer range works in the same way, they all detangle the hair really gently and with minimal damage, the only difference being their size, shape and the way they suit different situations.

My review for the Salon Elite is here and is an in depth look at how and why I fell in love with these products.

Compact Styler

This one is perfect for your bag or traveling, it differs from the Salon Elite by being smaller and having a safety cap for the bristles, the bristles on these brushes are quite flexible and can easily be bent and misshapen when shoved in your bag so having the protective cap extends the life of your Compact Styler. I also find it is perfect for my little hands, getting a good grip on this one is much easier because of it's shape and size.

If you are considering purchasing a Tangle Teezer but not sure which one to go with the Compact Styler would definitely be my recommendation.

Invisibobble

The Invisibobble is Tangle Teezers attempt at creating a hair tie that doesn't damage the hair or cause discomfort for the user. The idea is that when the hair is tied up the Invisibobble holds the hair in a way that kinks and creases can't form while also holding the hair securely yet gently to avoid causing headaches. I'm one of those people who do suffer from 'hair up headaches' so a tie like this is a bit of a god send for me, it holds well throughout the day but I don't find it suitable for use during workouts, although I think this is more related to how I tie my hair up when I workout more than anything. When it comes to leaving kinks in the hair I'm happy to say that this lives up to its no kink claims, if I have my hair up for the whole day I can see some slight creases but they generally smooth out after a short time The Invisibobble is also supposed to prevent split ends from forming during use and I'm pleased to say I haven't noticed any in the sections where my hair is typically held by the Invisibobble.

The Invisibobble comes in packs of 3 and they have a wide variety of colours, I was lucky enough to be able to mix and match my colours since I picked them up at a trade show but they are traditionally sold as all the one colour.

Aqua Splash

I can't review this product. It has sat in my Salon Melbourne haul bag since I got it home and I have no desire to use it, I simply do not brush my hair in the shower and I don't feel the need to start. The concept behind the Aqua Splash is that it has no space for water to seep in behind the bristles which means it can't get all manky and mildewy, it can be used in the shower and will dry perfectly or it can be used out of the shower just like a normal Tangle Teezer.

Since I already have a Salon Elite and a Compact Styler and I don't have the desire to brush my hair in the shower I'll be giving away the Aqua Splash to one of my readers, otherwise it's going to sit in my Salon Melbourne haul bag until the end of time and miss out on the love that a hair brush like this deserves. If you'd like to enter use the Raffle Copter widget below!

  • Prize is 1 Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash in the colour Blue Lagoon.
  • Open to Australian residents only.
  • There are no mandatory entries, you are free to enter how you want, when you want.

  • The prize will be posted via registered post.

Please note: Rafflecopter have a default start and end time of midnight on your selected running dates, you can not change this without paying $8 a month for a subscription service and I'm not being sucked in to that. While I like to think I am smart enough to tell the time, the concept of the competition opening and closing at this 'grey time' freaks me out, I believe I have calmed my brain enough to work out that this competition will be open for 2 weeks running from 12AM (midnight) Thursday 1st May 2014 and close Friday 16th May 2014 at 12AM (midnight) AEST, there is a possibility that not all will go to plan, not because I don't trust my ability to work shit out but more that I don't trust the Rafflecopter widget.

  2. I bought the original Tangle Teezer, but I found it was too big for my small hands. I gave it to hubby, and bought a compact one. Heaps better! I bought a cute little flower pot one for my niece too.
