Because why not?

Revlon - GWP @ Myer.

6 May 2014
I love me a good GWP. While shopping at Myer Melbourne mum drew my attention to a gift with purchase that Revlon was running, spending $39.95 or more would qualify you for a nice little 6 piece gift set.

I was umming and ahhhing initially, it was a nice little set and I would make use of all the contents but I wasn't sure there was anything I wanted that would make me qualify for the gift... Then I saw the scented polish sets and I knew it was meant to be.

Revlon had their Parfumerie polishes in duo gift packs for $19.95, I grabbed two and the rest is blogging and swatching history.

When you receive your GWP you will be given a boxed set that contains Photoready BB Cream in 020 Light Medium, ColourStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Quad in Siren, a Photoready Kajal Intense Eye Liner + Brightener and a super cute makeup bag, you'll then be asked to choose 1 of 3 Parfumerie Polish colours and 1 of 3 Colourburst Lip Products (I believe they had a matte balm, balm stain and lacquer option).

The colours I chose were Parfumerie Moonlit Woods and Matte Balm 220 Showy. I can't recall the other options because my brain is a fucking sieve but I'm sure there was another pink option for the lips and most definitely a red, the polish options included a pink and the other one I couldn't recall to save my life. Aren't I helpful.

The BB cream looks like a good general shade to include and the finish looked quite nice after swatching.

I'm not overly impressed with the polish on first impression, the finish is a bit meh but my GOD, that scent!! Amazing.

So surprised by this, everyone is raving about these so I did have high expectations, these were met and succeeded!

Revlon Photoready Kajal Intense Eye Liner + Brightener.
The liner has potential but I'll be honest, I'm a massive liner snob and often when new liners come in to my life I simply dislike them for no reason other than I don't like new liners. This one has some serious staying power and will likely be accepted in to the fold with time but I'm having some serious 'You can't sit with us' feelings towards it right now. The black is super black and the brightener a not-quite-white.

I was excited about the quad, I've not tried any Revlon shadows before and this looked like a set I could get a lot of use out of but I'm far from impressed. I gauge the decency of shadows by how well they swatch without help from a primer and this was dismal. I didn't bother photographing it without primer, I'll save that for a real review after I've had time to play with it but what I can tell you is I had to WORK to get the swatches below.

Overall I'm really pleased with this little haul, I'll use everything and while some products aren't as good as I thought they would be they still have potential. Everything in it is purely a bonus for me because once I spotted the polish duos I knew I was going to spend the money anyway.

I'm not sure when this offer ends or if it's available at all Myer stores (aren't I an amazing blogger with all my useful info!) but I suspect it'll be running up to Mothers Day at least.
