Because why not?

Come Play With Me - Unleash The Artist Within.

4 April 2014
GUYS GUYS GUYS It's that time again! I get to put on makeup and show you what I've done without doing a FOTD which would essential consist of the exact same thing every time you see it because I pretty much do the same thing every day unless some special occasion arises. This is why I love Love LOVE the Come Play With Me series.

This time Lady S chose our theme, Unleash The Artist Within, which suited me perfectly because it meant I got to show you why I made the career change in to makeup. Last time I really wanted to do a SPFX look but the leaves on the trees were still too green and I needed all the pretty hues of yellow and brown that they offer in Autumn. I knew that with this theme I would do a SPFX look no matter what but fate would have it that I would be able to show you my favourite type of SPFX.. The gory type.

Special Effects float my boat, it's fun, messy and like traditional makeup, offers great possibilities of full transformation. I tried to be tame for this look, I'm not sure my current readers really want to see stuff like this, I have some plans for Halloween looks that I'd like to do for the blog but I'm a bit on the fence because I know gory stuff can be disturbing for some whether it's real or not so please let me know in the comments if this freaks you out and you never want to see it again or if you think this is fun and want to see more. I always wanted to bring looks like this in to the blog but I wasn't sure my audience would be interested.

If you have a blog please join in the fun, we would love to have you on board!

And of course, don't forget to check out the other ladies work!
Kat's monochrome look
Lady S' bright and colourful eyes
IndieAna has released her inner Tiger!

I'll update this post with the other ladies looks as they become available!

  1. WOW WEE!!! I LOVE IT!
O.M.G you are so awesome at SPFX. I know it's way off but you should so sport this look for Halloween!
You certainly have unleashed your inner artist here Hailey :D Your skill and creativity is magnificent. Truly professional work. I can't wait to see what other SPFX looks you do.
I'm a lover of horror and I think what you've done here is fabulously scary. Well done xx

    1. Thank you Gemma! I usually do something makeup wise for Halloween but don't often get to show it off, mum and I discussed putting up some decorations to entice trick or treaters this year because we always buy the candy but the kids don't usually venture in to the blocks of units on our road but go to the houses that are decked out with all the ghastly things on the lawn.

  2. OMG that looks pretty scary, but you've done an awesome job! You didn't pop out to the shops wearing this did you?

    1. Well.. Mum came in when I was putting the stitches over my lips and asked me to get petrol, I just stared at her, unable to talk and she said I had to go out with my face looking like that so we did! I removed the stitches so I could drink coffee while running errands and never got out of the car but I got some really strange looks from pedestrians and other drivers. One lady shielded her child from looking at me while they were crossing the road, I felt a little bad but had to have a laugh.

  3. This is so scarily realistic! Yeah, so I'm saying that it is awesome and I would like to see more of your work. I'm fairly certain that most of your readers are going to want to see more. If I'm wrong, I wonder if it would be worth creating another blog dedicated to Special Effects, or create a folder on Pinterest. Anything so I get to see more :)

  4. U N B E L I E V A B L E ! Hailey hon this is outrageously brilliant and wickedly wonderful. Oh lordy it's so realistic my eyes are watering just look at your lips - ouchie! I'm amazed at the cuts and the stitches, but what REALLY gets me is what you've done around your eyes - the way you've reddened the rims and that purple bruising underneath is sheer genius...

    1. hahaha thank you so much Kat! I love playing around with bruising, the grease paints are so fun to play with and creating different stages of bruising and soft tissue damage is easy yet so effective for looks like because it looks so realistic.
