Because why not?

Lapurete - Okuru Mild Creme Facial Cleanser & Toner.

5 March 2014
This was a product that was sent to me as part of my BiB prize.

I was pretty stoked to get my hot little hands on this, I've seen it on TV and in store and my curiosity was peaked on more than one occasion. Because it's been featured on television (Today Tonight) I actually didn't take the brand all that seriously, I certainly wanted to try it but I didn't have a lot of confidence when it came to actually forking over the money for the products because, like all other women, I hate to be disappointed in a product.

The Lapuerete website claims: "The exotic and luxurious Okuru Mild Crème Facial Cleanser and Toner removes dirt and impurities, whisks away facial and eye make-up, and tones the skin.

The cleanser contains Okuru and Passion Flower which has been used by the indigenous people of the Amazon for centuries.

The naturally derived ingredients are carefully formulated to work in harmony with your skin’s natural pH level to maintain skin moisturisation and minimise the appearance of premature ageing."

The consistency of this cream is really nice and thick, when it comes to cleaning the skin it does a good job but I really can't recommend it for makeup removal, it doesn't get everything off the first time around so you would need to double cleanse with it (which I always do anyway) but considering the price of the product I'd recommend using a makeup remover first and using this as your secondary cleanser to get any bits you missed.

As with most cream cleansers it leaves the skin feel soft and hydrated, while gently cleaning the skin. I would consider this unscented, it has a creamy smell to it but it's very nondescript, I kind of like a little something in the way of scents when it comes to my cleansing products but that doesn't make me like the product any less. This would be great for anyone who is sensitive to fragrance in skincare.

Now when it comes to anti-aging I think most of that is going to happen with the products in the range that sit on the skin for more than just a few minutes so I can't comment too much on that but the fact that it's cream cleanser means that it is hydrating and that is certainly helpful for slowing premature aging.

Pros:
  • Gentle.
  • Hydrating.
  • Doesn't strip the skin.

Cons:
  • Not great at removing makeup.

Conclusion:
Would I buy it again? Maybe, If I were buying other products from the range to really test out how well they worked together then I would pick up another tube for sure but if I'm just looking for a cream cleanser I wouldn't go running to the shops for this one purely because it's not really in my price range at the moment and it's not Holy Grail for me.

Have you tried any other Lapurete products? Would you recommend them?

All Products were purchased by myself and I'm in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying.

  2. I've never heard of this product, but I do prefer cream cleansers to gel or foam.. but not being great at removing makeup is a huge con for me! that's why I cleanse my face half the time!!

    1. Yup it's a con for me too and the sole reason I wouldn't buy it again on it's own, I'd happily try it with the rest of the range but it doesn't cut it for me otherwise.
