Because why not?

Saturday Sample.

Clarins is a brand that always seems to impress me but I tend to forget this, so it's not often that I'm using one of their products in my routine.

I ended up with a sample of Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm and of course it hasn't disappointed. When I first squeezed this out of the tube the first thing I noticed was the pretty translucent pink colour it has, I personally don't think it's enough to transfer colour on to the lips so in reality it's completely pointless for me but I just got a real kick out of how pretty it is. Clarins do claim that the colour will leave your lips 'delicately pink' while the essential rose wax and shea butter will hydrate dry and chapped lips.

The balm it's self has no scent or taste and the consistency is that of a medium thickness, it easily smooths over the lips leaving a slight gloss effect and isn't sticky in the slightest.

It doesn't last exceptionally that well through eating and drinking but not many balm do unless they are super glued to your lips, having said that after eating and drinking I can still feel some balm on my lips so unless you have extremely dry lips you may not feel the need to reapply. With normal wear it stays put, doesn't bleed outside your lip lines and hydrates quite nicely.

Is it so amazingly awesome that you'll never go back once trying it? No, I don't think so, it's just a nice quality lip balm, there are less expensive products that compare to it but for those with a lot of disposable income and love high end brand names this is one to try out, at $30AUD for 15ml it's certainly not going to be suitable for everyone's budget but if you're curious I'd definitely recommend popping down to your local Clarins counter and getting them to apply some so you can try it out

What is your all time favourite lip balm?

All Products were purchased by myself and I'm in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying.

  1. I can't seem to find any balms that'll last the test of time. Maybe except for Carmex, it's so waxy, I feel like it's stuck on my lips all day to the point I want to wipe it off. I quite like my palmer's cocoa butter sunscreen sticks! Smells like chocolate ^_^
