Because why not?

Empty! December 2013.

31 December 2013
Gosh, can you believe another year has gone? I don't know how the hell it disappeared so quickly.

Although I am slightly annoyed that time seems to be speeding up as I get older I do enjoy the fact that as time passes my products become empty bottle and tubes because when something is gone I get to try something new!

I've been thinking for months about going blonde, I started the journey with the JoBaz colour remover and while it does work it didn't really help me out significantly, years of a level 10 buildup and using the wrong developer had essentially created a colour that would never ever be removed outside of bleaching or cutting it off. I gave up the hope of going blonde safely again but I couldn't get the urge out of my system, the other day I said 'fuck it' and started the long and painful journey.

Napro Palette in Light Ash Blonde - I can't recommend box bleaches, unless you have virgin hair or are already quite light just don't go there, it'll have minimal effect and you'll be disappointed. Having said that if your hair is prime for bleaching then this isn't a bad product, it was quite gentle and is right up there with the super light shades available. If you have long or thick hair use 2 or even 3 boxes, personally I used 2 but would have been better off with 3. The conditioning treatment it comes with smells delicious and does a decent job.
Repurchase? No, I picked it up because I was having a 'no guts, no glory' moment. I proved I had the guts but there was minimal glory. Absolutely not suitable for people with previously dark coloured (dyed) hair. If you're a virgin 7 or 8 then go for it, you'll need to do it 2 or 3 times though.

Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Toner - This is actually quite good, I had to use a whole tube in one sitting but it's fairly inexpensive and does do a decent job. Perfect for those who are looking for a 'natural' blonde. Yes it will stain your skin so use gloves and wipe away if you get it on your face and it can turn white blondes purple, I don't have a problem being slightly purple so I left it on significantly longer than recommended.
Repurchase? Yeah, will happily use this again.

Lush Angels On Bare Skin - Fantastic! Full review here.
Repurchase? I would for sure, after my BiB win I'm kind of over flowing with products so I think it would be smart to not buy anything until I'm certain I need it.

Bioderma Hydrabio Cleansing Moisturising Foam - I am so damn sad that this is empty, I tried to stretch it out towards the end of it's life because I know I can't repurchase. It's not available in Australia and you can't ship aerosol cans overseas. Cry. Full review here.
Repurchase? I want to, so, so bad!

Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub - Full review here. Didn't like.
Repurchase? No, this isn't for me.

Isocol Rubbing Alcohol - Inexpensive brush spot cleanser, great stuff!
Repurchase? Yes, in fact I must pick some up ASAP.

Daiso Enamel Remover - Decent but it's heinously drying on the nails and surrounding skin! Keep a moisturiser nearby for after!
Repurchase? I probably would, it does the job which is all I want a nail polish remover to do.

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil - Haven't used this enough to form an opinion yet.
Repurchase? Won this in my BiB prize so I'll be able to really put it to the test.

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes - Not bad, I Saturday Sampled this.
Repurchase? Possibly, have plenty of wipes for now though.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Baume AP - Amazeballs, also Saturday Sampled.
Repurchase? So would, in fact I think I need to pick this up soon.

Akamin Tablets - Just marking the happy moment of not having to take these daily again! They worked, it was torturous but worth it.
Repurchase? No, hopefully I'll never need them again.

Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose Perfume - So lovely, I primarily smell raspberry, peony and blackcurrant but on my skin I bring out cedar and musk as well. The must ruins it but I would still wear it.
Repurchase? Despite the fact that I really dislike musk I would actually buy this and seriously considering it.

Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Perfume - Really nice floral scent but again on my skin it pulls musk and cedar, I don't love it quite as much as the Lancome.
Repurchase? No.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year celebration, be safe! I hope 2014 brings all your dreams to life xx.

All Products were purchased by myself and I'm in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated. Links provided are for shopping examples only, I have personally purchased from some (not all) of these online stores but I highly recommend researching before buying.

  1. Ohh I've never seen the Bioderma product before. What a shame we can't purchase it in Australia :(

    1. Seriously one of my all time favourite face washes, so sad that I can't get more!

  2. This year I tried to go a bit lighter for the first time too. I went to the hairdresser though because I've always been really dark! I got some foils put in and then I decided to use a loreal ombre kit a few weeks after that! It turned out okay! I used to be on akamin too, but as soon as I went off them my acne just came back. Im trying a cream at the moment that seems to be working so far!

    1. Went to a hair dresser last week to discuss evening out my colour because I have a wedding next month and I'd like it to look nice, she told me $450 for a full head of highlights and a cut, nearly laid an egg I was so shocked!

The Akamin has been great for me, I haven't had a single spot on my face in about a month and a half, I'll be really interested to see if my skin reverts back to the way it was before using it. It's a shame it didn't work for you but awesome that you found something that helps!

  3. I didn't think I'd like Tresor either, when I first heard it was a musky scent I thought no no no... but once I sprayed it on me, it was quite delightful!
