Because why not?

Empty! June 2013.

2 July 2013
It's such a satisfying feeling to use up a whole bottle/tub/tube/pan/whatever of makeup or skincare, I just love to see that I got through it and either never have to deal with it again or have the joy of repurchasing a product that actually worked.

So lets take a look at what I finally got through in the month of June.

Nu Skin AgeLoc Transforming Night Cream - I won this and two other products in the range (You can see the kit and the claims here). At $99 for 30ml I'd expect results but didn't see any whatsoever. I'd prefer to buy a $15 moisturiser at Priceline and see no results (I would actually compare this to a $15 Priceline moisturiser), with the left over $84 I could pick up a Dermalogica moisturiser that would knock my socks off and probably still have change for a coffee. Repurchase: No.

Nu Skin AgeLoc Gentle Cleanse and Tone -  This particular one isn't bad but nothing to write home about so I wouldn't bother blogging about it either, I would also compare this to a $15 Priceline foaming cleanser. At $66 a bottle I'd expect results and I sure as hell didn't see any. Repurchase: No.

Vichy Normaderm Micellar Solution - Review coming tomorrow! Great stuff, does the job well! Repurchase: Yes.

Rexona Clinical Protection Anti-Persperant - This is my HG deodorant. A few years ago I developed a sensitivity to something found in most deodorants, we never managed to pinpoint what it was because I tried this to rule out a particular ingredient and fell in love. When you end up in hospital due to pain and the inability to move your arms due to using something that is almost a daily necessity you tend to feel like your life is over and when you finally find something that doesn't cause those issues you tend to not ever consider trying anything else. If Rexona ever discontinues this product I will probably kill someone... or cry a lot. Repurchase: Already have.

Cutex Strengthening Nail Polish Remover - I'm not fussy when it comes to nail polish remover, if it does the job I'm happy. I do get flaking of my nails though so I opted for a 'different formula' when I repurchased. We'll see if that helps at all. Repurchase: Already have, giving the moisturising formula a go.

Pearl Drops Intensive Whitening Toothpolish - I've purchased this so many times yet I don't think I've really given this a fair trial, I've never used it regularly enough to feel like I should be seeing results so I'm pretty sure I'll give this another go before deciding on my opinion. Repurchase: Yup, I'm gonna trial this stuff properly once and for all!

Sebastian Professional Strengthening and Repair Conditioner - I need to use up my friggin' samples, they are out of control and have a mind of their own (how do they get out of their allocated drawer and position themselves around my room for me to find?). I've had this for so damn long that they discontinued the range!! For gods sake what is wrong with me?!?! Ok so I haven't had this for years upon years, I know I got this one last year because just after I returned from overseas I threw away all my samples because I had obtained a million of them while I was in Europe (BTW Australian Beauty Industry, get your crap together please, being offered a small sample of something I might like to try when I purchase from you will make me come back and spend MORE. Europe has got it going on with rewarding their beauty customers, Australia doesn't know what the hell they are doing!).. Ahh, ok back on track.. Not a bad conditioner but nothing amazing, it's discontinued but I'm not really sad about that. Repurchase: Nope, even if it wasn't discontinued.

Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara - I like Clarins, their 'Truly Matte' range is the shit! If you have oil problems and you haven't tried either the Hydra-Matte Lotion or Ultra-Matte Rebalancing Lotion then you might want to consider harassing a sales assistant for a sample because they know what they are doing when it comes to fixing oil slicks. But I digress, this is about their Wonder Volume Mascara, it's not bad, it definitely gives volume and I honestly think I got a dodgy sample because it transfers to my brow bones and under my lower lash line after just a short time of wearing it, it's almost like my lashes somehow got wet (or my lids were extremely oily) and as I'm blinking it's slowly leaving traces of product around my eyes until I'm making a pretty good impression of a panda, but I have to be fair, I've not had this issue with any Clarins mascaras in the past and I did consider that it was due to oil on my eye lids but after a few tries to get this to work for me I just gave up, I do feel I just ended up with a not-so-user-friendly sample because I can not believe that Clarins would put a product like that out there. Repurchase: I would look for another GWP containing this to try it again but wouldn't risk buying a full size tube just in case the formula that I tried is what they are selling.

So that's it folks! Not a lot of empties this month but I do have a lot of half full products laying around and going to try to make a dent in them, I desperately need a clean out!

Any comments on the products here? Anything you would recommend based on what I've managed to use up? Regardless of needing a clean out I will not hesitate to buy more, it's a sickness and I can't help myself.

All Products were purchased by myself and I'm in no way affiliated with any of the companies mentioned unless otherwise stated
