Because why not?

Priceline Skincare Goody Bag

21 June 2013
Today was mental.
This is a super long post. If you don't want to read about my madhouse life you can scroll down until you start seeing pictures (ignore the first one)
This was going to be super long, then my back started to hurt while sitting here, I'm tired, it's past midnight and I just want to post this so I'm deleting about an hours worth of typing, re-reading, editing and more typing and posting the damn thing so I can finally relax.

I saw that the new Priceline goody bag would be available today and was feeling the need for a little retail therapy, I had no plans other than to blog, get some washing done and potter around the house so I called my local Priceline just to make sure they had the bags in store and told the sales assistant that I would be there shortly to do some shopping.

I pick up mum and head to Priceline. I park the car and we are walking through the car park and mum spots a car with those family stickers on the rear windscreen. You know the ones, something like this:

Just stop it.
The only difference was there were more adults, more kids and more pets. I hate these damn stickers, I just hate them. I don't think it's safe letting the whole world know what your family looks like. It was so ridiculous that I told mum I'd snap a picture on the way back. I never got to, the car was gone by the time I got back.

Priceline is lovely, it smells fresh, the sales assistants are all smiling and the shelves are fully stocked, I grab a catalogue to help me choose my purchases for the required $60.00 minimum spend. It's not difficult. I know I want the Puretopia Body Polish ($11.99) because it is hands down the best body scrub I have ever used, the Avene Micellar Lotion ($27.99) because I love micellar waters and I haven't tried Avene's version yet, I then settle on the Yes To Carrots Hydrating Shower Gel ($10.39) because I need shower gel and it looked enticing at this point I know I only need to grab about $10 worth of products, I'm umming and ahhing over quite a few things when mum picks up a sample bottle and says "ohhhhh this will be nice" I look at what it is and tell her it's a face wash and recommend that she doesn't put it on her hands.. She squeezes some in to her hands and proceeds to rub it in while I stand there looking at her with, what I can only assume, was a dumbfounded look on my face. "Ohhhh this isn't right" she says, her hands are soapy and she complains that it doesn't feel good. All I can do is laugh at her. I spot some Biore Pore Strips ($5.59) and toss a packet in my basket, I haven't used them since I was a teenager and look forward to trying them again, mum then spots a moisturiser sample bottle and thinks it will help to dissipate the sticky residue on her hands. It doesn't. I scan the shelves for a few more minutes trying to decide on a product I'm keen to try when mum finally declares that she needs "to get this stuff of my hands" we have passed many wipes while patrolling the isle of skin care so we figure this is the best option to take me to the $60.00 mark, we select a packet of Swisspers Green Tea Facial Cleansing Wipes ($5.03) as these are the ones mum has taken a fancy to and after asking if I will use them I tell her I don't like face wipes personally but they are excellent for my makeup kit so they won't be wasted. We head to the checkout and my total is $60.99, I'm quite pleased with my ability to add and remember numbers while being distracted by mum (read; small child). After scanning the wipes the lady hands them to my mum, she can't open them because her hands are a mess. The sales assistant is laughing. I'm shaking my head. We are done and I look forward to playing with my new goodies when I get home. Too bad I didn't get a chance to sit down until 11pm.

My $60.99 purchase:

Without further ado.. The Bag:

Why?: Nothing can compare to Puretopia's Body Polish. Nothing.

Beauty Essentials Hydrated Sorbolene Cream
Am I Excited?: No
Why?: Really dislike sorbolene.

Avene Thermal Spring Water
Am I Excited?: No
Why?: I have about 3 of these, unopened, in my beauty drawer.

Dove Visible Beauty Body Lotion
Am I Excited?: No
Why?: I don't like body moisturisers. Too cold in winter  to apply them and in summer it doesn't help the sweaty, sticky grossness.

Dr. Lewinns Bio-Care Oil.
Stretchmark and scar treatment.
Am I Excited?: Yeah, kinda.
Why?: Only other one I've tried is Bio Oil and I like the concept of treating scars.

Swisspers Cucumber Facial Wipes
Am I Excited?: Kinda
Why?: I don't personally like using wipes because I know how bad they can be for your skin but occasionally they come in handy. If they meet my requirements I will keep them for occasional use otherwise they will go in my kit and be used for makeup cleanup.

Biore Combination Balancing Cleanser
Am I Excited?: Yeah, a little
Why?: I quite liked their ice cleanser so keen to try some more of the range

Dermalex Repair
Eczema Treatment
Am I Excited?: Yes
Why?: I have eczema! Always looking for new products  in hope that something will deliver better results than my current product

Skinvitals Hydraflex Mask & Palmer's Eventone BB Cream Sample
Am I Excited?: Yes
Why?: Skinvitals masks are ahhh.may.zing. Love them!
I dislike Palmer's and BB creams so I will be satisfied when I hate it and I'm right  in my assumptions that it'll be crap OR it will be great and I will be pleasantly surprised. Either way it's a win.

Palmers Daily Calming Facial Lotion
Am I Excited?: Not really
Why?: Again, don't like Palmer's products but I'll give it a go. I am happy and open to be converted by a product that delivers.

Formula 10.0.6 Over Night Success
Overnight spot minimizing patches
Am I Excited?: Yes.
Why?: Love weird stuff like this. Let me at it!

Chapstick Ultra SPF 30+
Am I Excited?: Meh
Why?: I don't imagine it'll taste great.

Why?: Palmer's.. ugh. Mineral oil.. ugh. Alcohols.. ugh.
Probably won't even try this one.

Nivea Fruity Shine Strawberry
Lip Balm
Am I Excited?: Yeah, kinda
Why?: I like lip products, this one doesn't look too bad and I'm a fan of fake strawberry scent/flavoring

Vaseline Total Moisture Dry Skin
24 hour nourishing body lotion
Am I Excited?: Not really
Why?: Not a fan of body moisturisers
Nude By Nature Nature's Super Anti-Oxidant Foaming Cleanser
Am I Excited?: Yes and no
Why?: Don't like Nude by Nature products but love love love trying new face washes

Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Cleansing Towelettes
Am I Excited?: Kinda
Why?: Same reason as the earlier face wipes

Aveeno Eye Illuminator
Am I Excited?: Yes
Why?: It looks weird. I like weird.

So that's it. It's now 1:01am and I'm knackered.
